Great show Aji!

You should definitely do more shows like this. It demonstrates the richness of the re-mix culture. I had never been to the CC Remix site before There is some incredible work on there.

Please highlight more things like this.

Anji, I have a real problem with the way artists treat their album art. I downloaded all the albums and the supplied art is a postage stamp. Why is it that high-resolution art is never supplied? The artwork is created on a computer and could not possibly start out around 200 x 200 pixels, so why do they compress the hell out of it and reduce it to such a low resolution?

It's like they don't realise that once the music is in a media system, it becomes all about quality. Postage stamps are expected and relevant in illustrating the work on a website but you want to see something pleasing in iTunes, your iPod and Apple TV.

Another thing they don't realise is that the crappy artwork makes them look unprofessional. In comparison, works from net labels such as Alpine Chic and iD.EOLOGY come with thoughtfully formatted artwork, high-resolution, moderate compression which I actually have to downsize to my standard 1000 x 1000 pixels. The whole work is given respect, not just the music.

I think I must be unusual in my passion for the graphical component of music, and that's where my frustration comes from. I find it extremely difficult to convince any artist that the quality of their album art is important. The one I had the most success with was Chance (www.mynameischance.com). I got him to change from mixed resolutions not greater than 400 x 400 pixels to a standard 1000 x 1000, moderate compression.

I never doubt the quality of the music. It is what it is and I either like or dislike it based on my tastes, but I've never found it to be amateurish As someone who has to package and organise the end result, the artwork factor is a neverending source of frustration.

Went to download the supplemental albums and found there is a BitTorrent option. Great, only noone is seeding! This would be the perfect download option otherwise.
