Lovespirals “Motherless Child” Music Video

The first single from Lovespirals’ 2007 album, ‘Long Way From Home,’ was a heart-rending ethereal blues cover of the anonymous American spiritual, “Motherless Child.” It also appears on the ‘Motherless Child EP‘ released September 16, 2007. This video was filmed by Lovespirals’ vocalist, Anji Bee, on a road trip to Sonoma County, California.

The ‘Motherless Child EP’ is available on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Spotify, Bandcamp and other online music stores.

Chillcast #451: Come To Me

It’s been far too long since I last dropped a mix! But I’m back with a super loved up collection of future tunes – many of which feature full vocals. I feel like there’s more original tunes than remixes this time around, but there’s def a few big names thrown in amongst the more underground talents. Anyway, hope this laid back set helps set the mood for you over this Labor Day Weekend. And if you’re not celebrating this American holiday, then hopefully it’ll just make your end of summer weekend sparkle just a lil brighter! ‘Destiny’ Lyrics

The text document for these lyrics was created in August 2005, but I can’t find any mention of them in my diary, and I don’t remember writing them anymore! That was a really busy time for me, as I’d just gotten married, overseen renovations on my house, and was releasing my second album with Lovespirals – this time on our own label, which I’d just started that year. I was so busy with so many things, it’s no wonder I forgot writing this song! As for this recording, Gerry and I began work in September 2014. He sent me an instrumental demo, simply titled “Pop2Mixdown,” and the very next day I sent him back my first vocal demo, with the note, “oh yeah i like this one. just whipped up a quick demo.” Pleased, Gerry replied, “I love it. This is one of those demos that is pretty much finished. I listened to it again first thing this morning. All I can say is wow.” I went ahead and bounced my vocal acapellas down and sent them over immediately, to which he responded,  “Great melody. Great Lyrics, Soulful singing. Perfect.”

‘Destiny’ by The Grooveblaster & Anji Bee (2016)

The sky is still
No clouds are overhead
My head still reels
From all those things you said

Do you believe in magic
I think you do
Do you believe in something
Pulling you
To your destiny
It’s you and me
We’ll see this thru

No rest until
Our path has been well tread
And we fulfill
All of our dreams unsaid

Do you believe in magic
I think you do
Do you believe in something
Pulling you
To your destiny
It’s you and me
We’ll see this thru

Destiny was released as a single on June 8, 2016.
