The Chillcast Video Edition returns with this fun video for the MoShang song, “Waiting for the Bus,” from his debut 2004 album, Made in Taiwan. This comes from a 45 minute video set that he uses in live performances. I’m really excited about a collaborative Creative Commons project that MoShang invited me to join called the CC Asia Band (or CABACA) which is due out soon. Until then, you can check out MoShang’s own CC album project, Asian Variations, in my first-ever vidcast contest! Of course, you can all go download this chilled set of remixes for free, but I have one of the limited edition CDs to give to a random lucky winner. In case you didn’t hear the band’s 1 hour guest spot on Auralgasms Radio last night, don’t cry! While you did miss out on a fun chat session in the Auralgasms chatroom with Lovespirals at least you can hear a pristine archival copy of the show. Ryan and Anji chat between each song, giving not only track information, but a little insight into the music and musicians involved. The show seemed to be a big hit last night, so hopefully you’ll love it, too! Lovespirals Guest DJ on Auralgasms Radio

Lovespirals will guest DJ the “Yourgasms” show for Auralgasms Radio on Monday, June 30th, 2008. Ryan and I will present an hour long set of songs by Lovespirals, Love Spirals Downwards, and recent projects by past and present band vocalists Suzanne Perry (Melodyguild), Jennifer Ryan Wilde (Liquid State), and Anji Bee (Chandeen). We will also premier a very special Soul Whirling Somewhere remix produced for Lovespirals’ upcoming This Truth EP featuring remixes from their recent PLP Remix Contest. Tune in via iTunes, WinAmp, Real Audio Player, or Windows Media Player. The Lovespiralsgasms show will air LIVE from 10 to 11 pm EST. Ryan and I will also be on hand for a live chat in the Auralgams Chatroom.

Lovespirals on Coverville Podcast #474

This week’s “indie edition” of the award-winning Coverville podcast includes Lovespirals’ rendition of Pink Floyd’s “Welcome to the Machine.” This track was recorded in 2006 for a fan-created tribute compilation called NPF Tribute Vol. 2: The Return of the Sons of Neptune available as a free download from the Neptune Pink Floyd site. After a year’s hiatus, the show has returned to celebrate the Lovely Ladies of Ryan Lum! Hee hee. This show has been a long time coming, just like the release of new CDs by two of Ryan’s former collaborators, Suzanne Perry and Jennifer Ryan Wilde. I thought I’d put together a set in honor of we female vocalists that have worked with Ryan for your listening pleasure. As for the future of the show, I’m thinking I can do it monthly, and am already looking forward to the next edition, as I have more great music with female vocalists waiting in the wings…

I’m a day late, but this is still very worth checking out! I participated in TGrundy’s special Color Him Father Collabocast released yesterday, alongside my podcasting friends Fave Nitemare, EJ Flavors, and Darren Keith, plus the lovely Anewlis. Now this is not a podsafe music show like The Chillcast is, but I still wanted to feature an indie artist who seriously deserves some recognition. That artist is singer/songwriter Celia Chavez who recently released an album inspired by her father called Sailor’s Daughter. As fate would have it, she sent me the CD this month – perfect timing for this show. Better yet, Celia took the time to record an intro talking about how her father inspired her music and this wonderful, warm album. So please take a listen to this very personal collection of songs and thoughts put together in honor of Father’s Day.
