Unwind 12: Lovespirals Artist Spotlight

This week’s episode is a half-hour feature on my band, Lovespirals, and its earlier incarnation, Love Spirals Downwards. Band founder, Ryan Lum, joins me in-studio to discuss the band’s 16 year history during one of the most revolutionary periods in music. From 8 track cassette to digital recording, indie record label success to totally indie self-release, fanzine and college radio to website and podcasts – we talk a bit about all the changes the band has experienced. We also premier a brand new track from Lovespsirals upcoming 2007 album!

Took a little break and went back to Doheny to watch Ryan surf for a bit. I recorded a some stuff with my still digital camera and thought I’d share not only that video, but a collection of little surf videos I’ve captured over the past year or two. I’ve always liked how the camera videos look like old 8mm film. This episode features “Sandcastles” by my band with Ryan, Lovespirals.
