Ryan and Anji talk about recent recordings, chat about their local movie revival house, discuss the updated Love Spirals Downwards website, rant about Wikipedia, announce the winners of last episode’s Blisscent 1 CD giveaway contest, share fan email regarding the best way to buy music to support bands — as well as Lovespirals’ view of Pandora, iLike and Last.FM — and share the theme song for Anji’s new podcast, Lovely Ladies, written by Lovespirals and Beauty’s Confusion.
As mentioned in the podcast, here are past episodes including Pandora:
Ryan and Anji give a brief rundown of their New Year’s celebrations — including Anji’s Tofurky Roast feast, the band wax poetic on recent audio equipment updates, including a Ryan rant on speakers and subwoofers, Ryan becomes an iLike convert, Anji shares fan mail connecting her to French Maid TV, Anji shares her “Internet Land Bridge Theory” and that’s about it…
Holy crap! I’m owed money that I didn’t even know about. Good thing Sam just forwarded me this NY Times story about Soundexchange. I called them just now and determined that they do not have Lovespirals listed, and thus I would have missed out on performance royalties for plays on Pandora, Rhapsody and many other sites and services that I know my music is included on. Since I get checks from BMI, I thought I was covered, but apparently there’s more than one company gathering my money up for me. Sheesh there’s a lot to keep track of when you’re an indie artist!
Ryan and Anji talk about their new podcasting setup on Anji’s cool new Intel iMac, the Pandora music site, the band Mira, the Essence Podcast, the evils of AllofMp3, iTunes Store reviews, Frappr Maps, and Second Life.
