The girls are back at long last! Discussion of ShowGirls’ podcast award win, Elton John’s internet tirade, Skype shutdown, Dave Winer’s celebrity status, summer updates and latest news from hostesses Cali Lewis of GeekBrief, Soccergirl, KFC of PodChick, Karla & Karen of Rumor Girls and me, Anji Bee.
ShowGirls, the conversational group podcast featuring me, the RumorGirls, Soccergirl, Cali Lewis, Share of Rock n Roll TV, and the PodChick, just won a People’s Choice Podcast Award! Interestingly, the podcast was inspired by the 7 female podcasters meeting at last year’s New Media Expo (previously called Portable Media Expo) where the awards ceremony take place. It will be a nice reunion for us this year as we get to accept our own award! Thanks to everyone who voted for us.
Impulsively made a new episode last night after recording a shoutout for SoccerGirl’s 200th episode. A quick update on the new Lovespirals album and my podcast studio, plus lingerie chat, can glasses be sexy?, and real life Anji vs Second Life Anji. The theme music this week and last week, btw, is the “Hidden Desires” theme Ryan and I made last year for the proposed soap opera podcast with Adam Curry that seems to have slipped through the cracks. Figured I may as well make use of the song!
After another extended hiatus, the girls are back and more personal than before… Most of us are now Twitter converts, we’re all searching for a balance between podcasting and personal lives, we disagree on whether or not you can be friends with exes, some of us have overly-amorous fans, we’re all wondering what’s up with American Idol, plus we share the latest news from KFC of PodChick podcast, SoccerGirl, Karla and Karen from Rumor Girls, and me — Anji Bee!
After an extended hiatus, the girls are back and chattier than ever! This extra-long episode covers everything from the weather to whether or not we watch TV. We answer 2 audio comments, including one from Britney Mason about our favorite chick flicks, and a listener question regarding our relationship to fans. Other topics include Wii Have a Problem, American Idol, Rogue & Ronnoc, twitter, MySpace, Borat and Sacha Baron Cohen, plus the latest news from Cali Lewis of Geekbrief TV, Share of Rock ‘n’ Roll TV, KFC of Podchick podcast, SoccerGirl, and Karla and Karen from Rumor Girls. BTW, the last CD I bought was by Linda Lewis, and before that it was Continuum by John Mayer.

"Anji Bee has the sexiest voice in podcasting!"
-- Adam Curry of Daily Source Code
"Anji's sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet voice... I remember the first time I ever heard her, way back in the day, I said she could read me a Chinese menu or the phone book and I would be all happy!"
-- C.C. Chapman of Accident Hash
"Anji's voice wouldn't be out of place in a smoky jazz or blues bar somewhere down in a dimly lit cellar. Sultry with a voice like syrupy silky satin with a marshmallow middle and a honey topping."
-- Most Recognizable Voices in Podcasting, Sept. 2007
"Cosiness abounds as the silken voiced Anji Bee - lead singer of chillout band Lovespirals - pours a cocktail of mellow dance music. Mmm..."
-- Radio Times, July 2007
"If you're looking for a different brand of 'grown and sexy' in the podcast world, check out Anji Bee. This young lady is bringing it - from production, to her voice, to the music selection - she is doing her thazizzle!"
-- Fave of Friday Favecast
"No other voice in the podosphere is more sultry than Anji Bee."
-- Macedonia, Radio BSOTS
"Anji Bee, a musician and former radio DJ, gives "stage" to artists who might not otherwise be discovered. Bee's podcast exposes me to independent artists I've never heard of, and subscribing to it eliminates the need to forage for new music."
- La Shawn Barber's Corner
"Enjoying The Chillcast. It's seriously awesome. I listen to them like over and over again."
-- Julien Smith of In Over Your Head
"I just love the tunes Anji Bee selects and her comments on them. I no longer have to search for music to be creative; I just susbcribe to The Chillcast."
-- Karen of Rumor Girls
"Like having a cocktail of lovely tunes and honey poured directly into your ear. Well-chosen music, voice links that make you feel cosy inside, it all adds up to an essential weekly download."
-- Good Podcast Guide, Nov 2006
"If you're in the mood for chillout music, this should be your first stop. Her voice alone is the perfect complement for a long drive or any escape from the hectic rush of everday life. You're gonna love it."
-- DJ Come of Age, Nov 2007
