Chillcast Video #37: Lovespirals

I am super excited to present the world premier debut video from my band, Lovespirals! Ryan Lum and I have been creating music together for the past decade, but this is the first time we’ve ever released a music video. I created it myself using HD footage we filmed at the beautiful Newport Back Bay estuary, combined with footage from the ride home after mastering our new album, Future Past, in Northern California. I’m also excited because Ryan and I recorded a brand new version of The Chillcast theme song — which is now smoother than ever — plus I gave the Chillcast Video a new look and feel, from the intro, to the audio, to the show logo. Basically, I’ve been a very busy bee the past few weeks! I really hope you enjoy it all and look forward to your comments. Today’s video is for the song “Home” from Future Past released on iTunes Jan. 1st. Lovespirals is the musical project of musician, Ryan Lum, and vocalist, Anji Bee – your humble Chillcast hostess… We’ve just released our 4th full-length album, Future Past, on our own label, Chillcuts. A limited edition 6 panel eco-friendly digipac was pre-released over the 2009 winter holiday via the Lovespirals webstore, where Ryan and I personally autograph CDs by request from fans — and as a special treat, we have been including a free high-quality mp3 download with all CD sales for instant listening gratification. The official release of Future Past, however, was January 1, 2010 when it launched on iTunes and Amazon.

Its been raining pretty much non-stop this week in So Ca, with crazy storm cells bursting down heavy rain and wind with thunder, hail, and the occasional twister. Anji’s New Year To-Do List Video

Just popping in via video to wish you all a Happy New Year and to talk about some of the things I am working on for 2010. Gosh! Can you believe it’s already 2010? It sounds so futuristic… But then again, could we have imagined we’d be communicating like this 10 years ago? I was still having trouble uploading 64k mp3s via dialup, for crying out loud! Its absolutely unreal how much the internet has evolved the past decade, and I’m sure we’ll see even more evolution over the next decade. Hopefully you’ll still be following my content stream. Shine Wins Best Female Vox Garageband Award

Lovespirals first Future Past single, “Shine” has won the Garageband Reviewer’s Pick Award for Best Female Vocals in the Alternative Pop genre for this week. This is an ongoing contest judged by site users, primarily musicians who are also participating in the contest held by this unique i-Like owned music site. Songs are judged in an anonymous fashion, with the reviewer having no information about the track other than the soundfile itself until after they have rated it and posted their review comments.

Quite a haunting song. Nice mood with the Rhodes, and the female singer has a sexy voice which works really well when layered. Reminds me of the French band Air. Good sound, well done.
