Lovespirals’ final single of 2025, “Drift Begins,” drifts into a liminal, windswept mood built on soft piano, ethereal pads, and shimmering guitar. Drawing from Ryan Lum’s early ’90s Projekt-era palette—including the same vintage drum machine he used on his first albums—the track blends nostalgic textures with modern production. Its stately 6/8 pulse, misty imagery, Ryan’s emotive Gilmour-leaning solo, and Anji’s airy, Floyd-evoking vocal phrasing nod to mid-period Pink Floyd, while her luminous two-part harmonies and intertwined high/low registers add a dream-pop ache reminiscent of Slowdive and Mojave 3.
