Dissociate Single & Video Out Now

“Dissociate” finds Ryan and Anji Lum venturing into much darker sonic territory than previous cut “No Reply.” Driven by sparse, hypnotic beats and Ryan’s shimmering guitar, the song creates an intimate atmosphere where Anji’s fragile, whispering vocals can unspool without resistance. It’s a track built for candle-lit solitude, noise-canceling headphones in urban chaos, and the playlists that keep you from crashing out entirely. Fans of “Noumenon” (2024) and “Gray” (2026) will find “Dissociate” pushing even further into that restless, interior space.

Sireniel Podcast said that “Dissociate” is “more than a song: a small inner refuge, a half-remembered dream, an invitation to find peace in the silence of the night.

Music blog I Die: You Die called “Dissociate”: “A historical piece,” noting, “The lush production, sweet and understated delivery and chill groove are all things that have defined the band’s output.

“No Reply” Single & Music Video Out

New single “No Reply” finds Ryan and Anji Lum returning to the soulful, late-night side of their sound, blending chillout textures with dream pop atmosphere, warm female vocals, and a laid-back groove. Built around haunting piano, acoustic and electric guitar, shimmering electric layers, and subtle string machine textures, the song explores the quiet anxiety of modern communication breakdown. More upbeat than recent singles “Secrets” or “Gray,” it’s closer in spirit to 2024’s “Not Myself,” with a retro vocal downtempo feel.

Filmed along the remote, rocky coastline of Catalina Island, the music video features Anji’s lyrics unfolding over point-of-view hiking footage and wide cinematic shots of natural beauty shot by the duo, mirroring the song’s theme of isolation and missed communications, and echoing the refrain: “No answer, no reply.” Watch it on YouTube in the player below:

Lovespirals “Gray” Single & Video Out Now

Opening the year on a hushed, introspective note, “Gray” drifts through slow-motion, minor-key terrain steeped in Lovespirals’ signature atmosphere. Ryan’s ethereal electric and acoustic guitars glide over evocative samples and 808-driven beats, with string-machine swells and spacious production filling out the haze. Anji, meanwhile, anchors the track with a subdued delivery, as a minimal call-and-echo chorus introduces angelic backing vocals that bloom into dreamlike harmony in the bridge.

Sonically and thematically, “Gray” connects to “Noumenon” and “Nothing Even Matters Anymore,” continuing the band’s exploration of emotional dislocation and restraint, while also drawing from the downtempo pull of “Glittering.” Together, these songs trace the duo’s embrace of chillout and dream pop aesthetics—modern yet timeless—affirming their ability to evolve while remaining unmistakably themselves.

The “Gray” music video –created by Anji utilizing archival personal footage– debuted on January 21st, following the single’s digital release on January 16th. It serves as a haunting visual companion to the track’s exploration of memory and emotional stasis. Watch it on YouTube:

Lovespirals “Drift Begins” Single & Video

Lovespirals’ final single of 2025, “Drift Begins,” drifts into a liminal, windswept mood built on soft piano, ethereal pads, and shimmering guitar. Drawing from Ryan Lum’s early ’90s Projekt-era palette—including the same vintage drum machine he used on his first albums—the track blends nostalgic textures with modern production. Its stately 6/86/8 pulse, misty imagery, Ryan’s emotive Gilmour-leaning solo, and Anji’s airy, Floyd-evoking vocal phrasing nod to mid-period Pink Floyd, while her luminous two-part harmonies and intertwined high/low registers add a dream-pop ache reminiscent of Slowdive and Mojave 3.

“Drift Begins” is available now on SpotifyApple MusicAmazon MusicYouTube Music and other streaming platforms under the original band name, Love Spirals Downwards, as well as on Bandcamp under both LSD and Lovespirals.

Following the simmering defiance of “Boss Mode,” Lovespirals return with “Okay”— a slow-burning meditation on emotional exhaustion and disconnection, enveloped in a soundscape that seamlessly blends sensual modern R&B grooves with lush dream pop melancholy. Lovespirals “Boss Mode” Single & Music Video

A silky-smooth blend of soulful downtempo & introspective pop, “Boss Mode” pairs Anji’s soul-baring lyricism & sultry vocal delivery with Ryan’s signature dream pop guitar textures & sleek electronica production. With moody keyboards, crisp beats & soulful guitar flourishes, the song finds strength in vulnerability, drawing emotional resonance from the language of gaming culture—“like boss mode, low health, no refill”—as a metaphor for emotional burnout.

Marking a shift from the darker emotional tones of recent singles like  “Not Myself” and “Noumenon,” “Boss Mode” calls back to the bittersweet soulfulness of “Why Not Today” and the melodic warmth of “Life Goes On,” while carving out its own space with a confident groove and glimmers of hope. The result is a track that straddles introspective pop and downtempo electronica, inviting listeners to power through life’s harder moments with grace and groove.

“Boss Mode” is available now on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music and other streaming platforms under the band’s original name, Love Spirals Downwards, as well as on Bandcamp under both LSD and Lovespirals.
