Singer/songwriter, Paul Mac Innes, is the focus of this week’s special Chillcast artist feature. Paul and I chat about all of his various musical projects and collaborations as we peruse his catalog of tunes from 2005 to the present day. As I mentioned last week, I wanted to put together a show highlighting the various releases I was a part of in 2011. Well it was incredibly tough, but I have whittled down 20 of my favorite tracks of 2011. I could have easily picked out 50, but this set is already 90 minutes long as it is! Now I’ll be the first to admit that this set strays pretty far from the “chillout” genre, but as you know, I listen to all kinds of tunes and this year I was particularly drawn to poignant, intense songs and newly emerging genres, which is reflected in this set. This week I’m pleased to present the new video for “Only Bitterness Remains” by my friends, Lovers and Poets. The Silverlake duo of singer/songwriter, Shannon Hurley, and her bassist husband, Ben Eisen, released their debut self-titled album late last year and have been promoting it with a series of shows in the Los Angeles area ever since. Its that time of the year, my loyal listeners, the time of the year we spread holiday cheer. Every year I think I won’t find enough new holiday music to make a set, but once again, I found a ton of new tracks for all of your holiday get-togethers.
