Know ye not that this life is deceit?
Know ye not that enjoyment is illusion?
Know ye not the world is a passing show?
Know ye not that happiness is a dream?
Know ye not that praise and blame is insubstantial?
Know yet not that appearance is the mind itself?

Know yet not that the mind itself is Buddhahood?
Know yet not that the Buddhahood is the body of truth?

When ye reflect, all appearances are compacted out of mind
Contemplate the mind by day and night
From contemplation of the mind comes beatific vision
Abide in that beatitude

Know ye not that the body of truth is truth itself? (x2)

When ye meditate upon these things assiduously
Though ye do not succeed in rooting out desire and hatred
Know that whatever appears is your own mind-stuff
And that the mind itself is void
If ye dwell in wisdom inseparably
All the observances of the law, oblations, and the like
Are thus perfectly fulfilled

Note: These lyrics are an adaptation of one of the Songs of Milarepa, a classic Tibetan Buddhist text. “Crossing the Pond” is an instrumental by Snoblind which I added vocals to specifically for the CC Asia Band Creative Commons project. My vocals were made available on the ccMixter site, and as such, many other songs were created using these lyrics by various producers under different names. Benoit Cassar released his mix, entitled “Buddhahood,” on his 2010 compilation, ‘Danai, Vol. 2.’

To top it off, it’s a “remix” of one of my all-time fave songs, “Little White Roses,” featuring lovely vocalist, Toddy Ivy. The original version is from their awesome 2006 CD, Sounds Like Sex 2, but this version – called “Little White Roses (On A Hazy Summers Day)” – comes from last year’s Paul & Price VS Toddy Ivy EP. At long last the band have settled on the winner and runner-up of the PLP Remix Contest for This Truth! We know that 60 some producers have been anxiously awaiting our decision since April 1st, and we’re sorry to have kept them on pins and needles, but we needed time to sort through and really listen to all of the entries. There were quite a few really good mixes — more than we even dreamed we’d get! We decided the best, most fun way to announce our faves would be with a podcast, sharing the music and our thoughts on the tracks. We hope that both the contest entrants and our podcast listeners will enjoy it. The remixes are presented in no particular order, except for the winner and runner-up; the runner-up is presented first and the winner is presented last. The grand prize is an 8 gig iPod Touch, a year’s subscription to the PLP Producers’ Vault, and all 3 Lovespirals CDs autographed by the band, plus inclusion on an upcoming remix EP and promotion via the Podsafe Music Network and other online music services.Thanks so much to all of the producers for their hard work and especially to DJ Puzzle of Peace Love Productions and SynthVox for throwing the contest for us!

Now we can see the beautiful face behind the lovely voice in this video for “Rest Your Head On Me” directed by Vlad Martins and produced by RIOT.
