Hey ya’ll! This week I decided to break it down and do it old school with a Chillcast that is completely stone cold chillin’. No high energy trance, disco house, electro pop or whatnot this episode, this is all laidback beats. In case you haven’t been following my complaints on Facebook or Twitter, I am sick. Boo! But I still took the time to put together an extra special show filled to the brim with LOVE. There were so many great songs that I wanted to share with you that I included a whole half hour extra. To celebrate the New Year in style, I put together a very special 2 hour mix. The first half is spiritual worldbeat downtempo, while the second hour is upbeat danceable electronica with super positive lyrics. I mixed it DJ style so you can just get really into the music, like I did while I was putting this together for ya’ll. I’ve been told several times this week that I’m “passionate” and while that word might hold different connotations for different people, I would have to say that it could well be the one word that sums me up best. This show is one of my passions as I am very passionate about music and passionate about sharing new music that I feel will inspire passion in your lives. I don’t know about you, but when I hear a really good song, a particularly poignant lyric, a soulfully melodic riff, well, it’s a whole lot like falling in love. I was torn between titling this one “Classic Chillout,” “Classic Chillcast,” or “Lovely Ladies.” Today’s show is exactly that, a classic Chillcast mix of lovely chillout tunes with Internationally diverse female vocals. My favorite! I’ve had quite a few high quality trance tracks sent in recently, but this week I was really in more of a mellow mood so what we’ve got here is a nice collection of downtempo, lounge, worldbeat, r&b, and one little drum & bass tune for good measure. To top it off, it’s a “remix” of one of my all-time fave songs, “Little White Roses,” featuring lovely vocalist, Toddy Ivy. The original version is from their awesome 2006 CD, Sounds Like Sex 2, but this version – called “Little White Roses (On A Hazy Summers Day)” – comes from last year’s Paul & Price VS Toddy Ivy EP.
