Chillcast #277: Blessed

I’ve been incredibly busy lately with lots of new music to promote, but still I must admit that I’m blessed. Last week I saw my favorite young tennis player, Ernests Gulbis, breeze through his 2nd ever tournament win here in Los Angeles, this weekend I celebrated my beloved hubby’s birthday, and next weekend is our 6th anniversary. Historically we’ve kept our relationship on the down low, but this year I decided to tell the world, and the lyrics to “Blessed” were born. The first show of 2011 takes a look back at some of my personal favorite tunes from 2010. Unlike my “Top 20 Podsafe Songs Of…” shows of years past, this selection is not confined to only podsafe music. Because I now play more music received directly from promotional companies and bands than ever before, I just couldn’t restrict myself that much. So I know what all my American listeners have planned for this week; you’re all gonna be chillaxing, kicking back, eating food, having some drinks, hanging out with friends and family, and just generally relaxing. I was torn between titling this one “Classic Chillout,” “Classic Chillcast,” or “Lovely Ladies.” Today’s show is exactly that, a classic Chillcast mix of lovely chillout tunes with Internationally diverse female vocals. My favorite! I’ve had quite a few high quality trance tracks sent in recently, but this week I was really in more of a mellow mood so what we’ve got here is a nice collection of downtempo, lounge, worldbeat, r&b, and one little drum & bass tune for good measure.
