The Grooveblaster & Anji Bee “Destiny” Lyrics Video

Retro beat maestro, The Grooveblaster, and soulful songstress, Anji Bee, have created a number of laid back collaborations over the past decade, but “Destiny” is perhaps their best yet. Though originally released in mid 2016 as a digital single, this is the first time it’s been released on YouTube. It’s high time this beautiful chill out song had an equally gorgeous video. Get ready to swing into spring with this flowery lyric video shot and edited by Ms Bee, herself!

Anji Bee and The Grooveblaster Release ‘Destiny’

‘Destiny’ the beautiful new single from The Grooveblaster & Anji Bee is now available on iTunes. It is the 12th and final single of the Grooveblaster’s 12 singles in 12 months campaign, and the ninth song this duo has created together. In 2008, The Grooveblaster created a remix of “This Truth,” by Anji’s band, Lovespirals. Soon after, she contributed vocals to 2 tracks on The Grooveblaster album, ‘Cities Streets & Bebop Nights.’ Another two collaborations were created for his 2011 album, ‘Out of the Past,’ and 2 more Grooveblaster remixes were produced from Anji’s first solo album, ‘Love Me Leave Me.’ There are tentative plans to re-release all of these collabs in one collection, potentially with one or two more original songs by the duo. ‘Put Some Music On EP’ Out Now

Anji Bee’s first single from her upcoming debut solo album was recently released by 3345 Music. The Put Some Music On EP includes The Grooveblaster mix from his latest album, Out Of The Past (which AcidTed described as, “a bit wee small hours, smokier and sleazier” than the original mix), plus a dubby mix by 3345 Music’s own 3C, and 2 brand new remixes by Intensity of Sound, the project of veteran German dance producers, Marcel Grasmück and Kay Praag. The Intensity of Sound “Retro Funk Mix” hit #2 on the Traxsource Lounge Essential 20 list in December and #16 on the Juno Recommends Downtempo list for January, whereas DJ Oxide at Resident Advisor and Urbnet’s Jackhouse Magazine listed the full Put Some Music On EP at #2 on his Top 10 Picks for January 2012.

Anji Bee on ‘Out Of The Past’ By GROOVEBLASTER

The second full-length album by The Grooveblaster, Out Of The Past, was recently released via Bandcamp and other digital retailers.

Once again, producer Gerald Belsha enlisted Anji Bee (of Lovespirals) and Yasi Baby! of (Pacha Massive) to lend their lyrical and vocal talents to his retro-styled jazzy electronica. Anji is featured on the Philly soul styled “Put Some Music On (Good Times)” and the bittersweet pop gem “Smiling, while Yasi sings on the upbeat, funky “Dare” and the laid back “Lady Groove,” which debuted at #4 and spent 2 weeks on the Below Zero Beats Top 10 chart.

The 13 track album also features guest vocals by Berlin chanteuse, Jana Tarasenko, as well as a host of groove inducing instrumentals. “Stretch Out and Relax” featuring Jana debuted at #7 in the Below Zero Beats top 10. Instrumental cut, “It’s in Her Kiss,” was also featured on the recent Chillcast with Anji Bee: 5 Years of Chillin’ free compilation, alongside Bee’s own version of “Put Some Music On,” co-produced with her Lovespirals partner, Ryan Lum.

Bee had previous contributed to The Grooveblaster’s 2008 album, Cities, Streets, and Bebop Nights, on the tracks “Whole Wide World” and “Summer Days.”

Featuring several tracks with a few different female vocalists, the album creates a party vibe that anybody who appreciates the origins of a genre like hip-hop will certainly enjoy.

It is now officially summertime on my little part of the globe. Today was our first truly warm day, too. My precious cat, Monster, has been feeling much better, my heirloom tomato plants are producing their first ripe fruits, and things are generally looking pretty dang good! Weird name for the show today, I know. Its just that I noticed I had unintentionally included 3 cover songs in today’s mix of chilled downtempo and deep minimal house. Anji Bee Guests Properly Chilled

Lovespirals vocalist, Anji Bee, guest hosted a one hour set on the radio show, Properly Chilled, last weekend. The show airs on 101.5 FM WXGR in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, every Saturday from 6-8 pm, and streams live worldwide via http://www.wxgrfm.org. Luckily for you, it is also released as a podcast the following week. Included in Anji’s set is Lovespirals’ brand new track, “Try To Forget,” as well as her solo song, “Put Some Music On” (produced by Ryan Lum, of Lovespirals, btw…), along with several other cuts from her new 5 Years of Chillin’ compilation. In addition, she featured several recent Lovespirals remixes, including the winner of the “Feel So Good” remix competition held by Sony Acid Planet earlier this year. Also in the mix are 2 brand new Anji Bee collaborations; one with The Grooveblaster, and the other with Karmacoda and Beth Hirsch, as well as her recent collaboration with 7 Day Visa.

Properly Chilled was founded in January 2005. Dedicated to downtempo music and culture, their approach is a widely inclusive one, bringing together the sounds of nu jazz, broken beat, world fusion, dub, trip hop, deep house, jazzy hip hop, ambient electronic, idm, glitch, reggae, acid jazz, afrobeat, cosmic disco, dubstep and pretty much any other laid back child of electronic music.

Put this week’s show together extra early as I’m heading out to SF to hang with Karmacoda and get a sneak peek of their album, Eternal. Yay!
