New & updates on Anji’s various projects

The Chillcast Lovespirals Guest DJ Set Special on Spotify Podcasts

After a 2-year hiatus, The Chillcast with Anji Bee podcast is back! The past 6 or 7 years the show has only been available on Mixcloud so it’s exciting to check out the new Anchor by Spotify system. This talk-music format hearkens back to my early days on PodShow, and with Ryan Lum as my special guest, it’s also similar to my classic artist interview features. He and I sat down to chat about our brand new Lovespirals ‘Smile – Single’ sharing our songs plus music by other artists that helped inspire us. This was fun to do and I truly hope you enjoy it. Please let me know if you’d like Ryan and I to do more episodes like this!

Lovespirals ‘Smile’ Music Video On YouTube

Lovespirals new single, “Smile,” combines Ryan’s classic shimmery guitars with a laid back beat, dreamy electric piano, and Anji’s earthy yet ethereal vocals to create a warm and welcoming sound that evokes the sunny beachside lifestyle depicted in the song’s brand new music video shot and edited by the band themselves. Ryan’s scenes were shot along the Palos Verdes cliffside while Anji’s scenes were shot at the Crystal Cove State Park.

The Vegan Optimist Interviews Anji & Ryan

Anji and her Happy Healthy Vegan partner, Ryan, were recently interviewed by Ryan Tratner for his podcast, The Vegan Optimist.

“The Vegan Optimist is a podcast spreading positivity and optimism about the future of veganism. It is a place of learning focused on positive developments in all things vegan!”

It’s a pretty fun half hour conversation that goes into how we met, how/why we became vegan, and what lead to the creation of our YouTube channel, as well as our thoughts on veganism and vegan activism, how to go vegan, the lie of “humane” meat, plus a lightning round of couple questions. What stupid thing did we recently get into a fight over? Find out!

Check out the podcast at:

Margaritari (Love Me Leave Me – Wedding Edit) Out Now

The Morphism has released a very special remix of “Love Me Leave Me” on Bandcamp. This stripped down version was created as the First Dance song for his own wedding. Anton named the special edit “Maragaritari (Love Me Leave Me – Wedding Edit)” after his new wife, Margaritari. Congratulations to the beautiful couple! I’m honored to have been a part of your celebrations.

You can hear the original mix of “Love Me Leave Me” by The Morphism on the Anji Bee Bandcamp account:

Lovespirals “Spinning Circles” Music Video

An official music video for the song “Spinning Circles” from our ‘Life Goes On’ album is out now on the Lovespirals YouTube channel.

Lovespirals “Spinning Circles” filmed and edited by Anji Bee.

Over the past 2-3 years I’ve been filming various scenes I thought would work well with the lyrical concept and I finally took the time to edit them together for this fun must video that contrasts black and white and super colorful scenes. The parasol scenes were shot on Laguna Beach during the performance of ‘The Shoreline Project’ by artist Elizabeth Turk. We had randomly been on site just as 1000 people converged for this performance piece, and it was quite surreal! The carousel and teacups ride scenes were both shot at Disneyland, and the stupa scene was shot at Maui Dharma Center in Paia.

Hope this video makes you smile!

Anji Releases Happy Healthy Vegan Cookbook

I am proud to announce that I’ve just released my second independently published book, Happy Healthy Vegan Cookbook. This follow up to by 2016 debut cookbook, Keep It Carbed, Baby!, highlights the more savory side of my oil-free whole food plant based cooking style with 40 new easy to follow recipes focused on pantry staples and ingredients already found in most kitchens. Not only did I develop the recipes, I also took care of the food styling and photography, and handled all the design and layout of the book for print, PDF, Apple Book, and Amazon Kindle formats. It was a huge undertaking, so I’m very excited to have completed this project while under quarantine this year.

Tim Where Are You Now? CD features Lovespirals

Lovespirals are featured on a new album. “Tim Where Are You Now?” by Sam Rosenthal of Black Tape for a Blue Girl was created to honor what would have been the 100th birthday of Tim Leary this month. It’s a collaborative album packed full of special guests including Lovespirals’ Anji Bee and Ryan Lum (on tracks 6 & 8). “PSY PHI love means High Fidelity” pulls vocal inspiration from the original Star Trek series theme song, and musical inspiration from the classic exotica lounge albums of that same era.  This song also features special guests Byron Metcalf and Martin Bowes. The CD is available on Bandcamp, where you can opt to purchase a digital download on the “Name Your Price” deal (meaning you can pay $0 if you want…), and it’s also available to stream on all digital platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube.
