Recorded this last night — before today’s rain… [and snow!] This episode includes exciting Lovespirals news, more on my upcoming Paul & Price feature, a continuation of one of the subjects from last week’s ShowGirls (no offense to older men intended, I think I was mostly influenced by the invective of Tom Leykis I’d heard on the radio earlier in the day…), and a bit about CSB, the 5 Things Meme, RumorGirls, and Second Life.
The recent below-freezing temperatures of So Cal have given a whole new meaning to “chillout” over here at The Chillcast! Brrr… Let’s warm up with some hot music!
They say the 3rd time’s a charm: ShowGirls are currently featured in the iTunes store “New & Notable” comedy podcasts – woo hoo! We girls get our first audio feedback, and boy were they doozies! Two sexy voiced listeners chime in with some great conversation starters, plus MacWorld news and more from Share of Rock ‘n’ Roll TV, KFC of Podchick podcast, SoccerGirl, Cali Lewis of Geekbrief TV, and Karla and Karen from Rumor Girls. You know you wanna subscribe…
My first show of the new year gives you a wrap up of my holiday celebrations and recent podcasting, blogging, and band activities, and laments the downside of podcasting over the holiday season. BTW, here’s my iLike Picks and the i am nerd podcast site… [ed. just noticed my intro slip – doh!]
Today’s “Best of Charley” edition of the Daily Source Code #524 is guest hosted by yours truly in an episode I call Adam Loves The Ladies! I put together a pretty darned smooth mix of female fronted Podsafe music played by “my cyber lover,” Adam, over the past 4-5 months. A fun listen! Oh, Adam told me the “Leroy” comment is a reference to the song, “Float On.” 🙂
Snuck out to the see the sunset just after recording the show and boy was it nice… Had the Becket & Taylor song totally stuck in my head! When I got back I saw that my favorite podcaster had just launched a brand new podcast/project called Listen to Your Kids; you go Jules! Anyway, I’d describe the mood of this episode as decidedly upbeat. I’m really digging the new year.
Ryan and Anji give a brief rundown of their New Year’s celebrations — including Anji’s Tofurky Roast feast, the band wax poetic on recent audio equipment updates, including a Ryan rant on speakers and subwoofers, Ryan becomes an iLike convert, Anji shares fan mail connecting her to French Maid TV, Anji shares her “Internet Land Bridge Theory” and that’s about it…
Crikey! I just noticed that C.C. Chapman had “tagged me” for that 5 Things Meme. Gulp! I guess I owe it to him to try and come up with 5 things people might not know about me and 5 other poor saps to do the same. Darned chain mail!
I attended 3 different high schools in 3 different states; California, Arizona, and Massachusetts.
I moved out of the house right after High School. I started off in Downtown L.A., then moved to Hollywood, decided I hated the metropolitan area and settled down in the Harbor Area, instead.
I’ve never left the North American continent; the furthest I’ve traveled to is Mexico City.
OK, here’s the embarrassing one: I appear in Journey’s “Faithfully” video. I’m in one of the concert crowd shots, sitting up on a guy’s shoulders. I used to see it on MTV all the time… Good luck spotting me on the tiny grainy YouTube video!
