This week’s featured artist is actually the same artist as last time but under a new name! John Boswell of Colorpulse decided to give his science-based musical video project its own identity: Symphony of Science. He’s created two new songs and videos under the updated moniker, and today’s show features a great mashup of spoken word by Neil deGrasse Tyson, Richard Feynman, Bill Nye, and — of course – Carl Sagan called “We Are All Connected.” His first song, “A Glorious Dawn,” was recently released as a special 7″ vinyl, through Third Man Records. Hope all my fellow Americans are having a nice Thanksgiving holiday! I must admit I was starting to grow melancholy over the year’s end, but between all the kind messages coming in from Lovespirals fans and this mix of upbeat electropop and downtempo music, I can’t help but smile. There truly is much to be thankful for, not the least of which is the amazing variety and depth of  podsafe music this year! Lovespirals ‘Future Past’ CD Released

You can now buy Lovespirals’ brand new album, Future Past, exclusively from the Lovespirals webstore! This gorgeous 6-panel eco-friendly digipak includes all of Anji Bee’s song lyrics plus beautiful photography by Susan Jennings and original artwork/design by ithinkitsnice. The CD itself was replicated using real-time glass mastering and vintage CD manufacturing equipment for audiophile-class sound, care of Groove House Records. Anji (and Ryan) will personally autograph your copy if you request it, PLUS you’ll receive an immediate digital download of the album when you purchase the CD directly from Lovespirals. In keeping with this green release, the band are packaging orders in non-bleached mailers made of 90% recycled content (50% post-consumer). You can read more about the Future Past eco-friendly packaging in an earlier blog post. Future Past will also be distributed via Projekt Records, CD Baby, Amazon, iTunes, eMusic, Rhapsody and all the usual online music sources, but the band wanted to make the album available to fans as soon as possible. As an independent band, it is difficult to schedule simultaneous release on all platforms, so those will be trickling in over the next few months. Sorry this week’s show is running late. I’ve been up to my eyeballs in all things Lovespirals, preparing for the imminent release of our new CD, Future Past. Today I’m premiering our first single from the album and I’m as nervous as a mother sending her child off to their first day at school! Our digipaks are all arriving here today via FedEx and I’m in a highly excitable state, but I still managed to put together a nice little show for ya’ll. Of particular note is the 3 song set of Drum ‘n’ Bass I close out with – quite rousing!

Artist of the Month: Fonogeri

Hungarian electronica producer, Fonogeri, has recently released all 3 of his soothing, melancholic chillout albums on Creative Commons music site, Jamendo. This means that you can stream every track in full AND download the mp3s absolutely FREE! His latest album, Letters From Home, was just released this past August and contains a staggering 20 tracks. After having sampled his earlier albums, I would have to agree with the artist statement that this is “Fonogeri’s hottest album.” While still retaining the ambient atmosphere of past releases, Letters adds “a bit of the Hungarian spice,” as the bio so aptly puts it. There is an edgier feeling to these compositions — perhaps a slight urban feel — that helps propel the album along. Breaking up the largely instrumental pieces are a few with vocal samples which add a more human element which I appreciate. The lyrics of “Tough Song,” in particular, add to that “urban” feel; “Uptown. Feeling it baby…” I could easily imagine Fonogeri’s music alongside the artists of Sine Music, Tyranno Lounge Records, or Billo Music. This is some pretty top notch chillout lounge, so I suggest you download it now while you can still get it for free!
