I _was_ impressed with the iTunes Plus announcement. I rip CDs at 256kbps. Amazon’s offering is 256kbps MP3, which is actually lower in quality than 256kbps AAC, because AAC is a more-efficient codec. Of course, you probably wouldn’t hear the difference, but technically, it’s true.

I left a review for “Long Way” on Australian iTunes. I didn’t see any other reviews, so it seems that reviews are region-specific. Here’s what I wrote:

“Anji and Ryan have really hit their stride with their third release, full of Anji’s trademark soulfulness but with a guitar emphasis that really works. The album is very polished and crystal clear.

“In addition to this, it’s available in iTunes Plus format, which astounds me as I wasn’t aware that this had been extended to self-published artists. What a great way to listen to this album!”

Okay, so I now realise that you didn’t negotiate directly with iTunes, so Reapandsow is probably one of those indie labels that Apple recently offered iTunes Plus to. It’s fantastic news!

How about a nice little digital release of the Second Life show, in a high bitrate, with a cover based on the screen grabs you got, and sold for a modicum? I’d buy it, especially after hearing that teaser at the end of this episode.
