Its a little early in the year for new releases, so the first show of 2014 is filled with great releases left over from 20143 — some quite recently released. This mix is largely instrumental with a smattering of vocals, many of them bootleg sampled from pop songs.The show flows from super laid back chill trap to slightly more aggressive melodic dubstep with some upbeat funkiness thrown in for good measure. Today’s one hour set is very laid back, with some classic downtempo, chill out, and trip hop tunes – many with an organic feel – mixed in with the more contemporary electronica genres. There’s a mix of vocal and instrumental tracks, though you know me, I always focus on lyrics… This one is kinda sexy with just a hint of sadness. I dunno if there’s more beautifully ambient infused tunes coming out right now, or if my ears are just more attuned to hear them, but whatever the truth is, I’ve got another lovely one hour mix filled with super chilled beats and grooves with gorgeous vocals sprinkled throughout.
