A video would be extremely cool. You mentioned in the past that you might work with Karmacoda’s director. The effects in their video were really interesting. I bought the DVD.
Whatever you do, don’t letterbox a 16:9 video on 4:3 (standard TV aspect ratio with black bars on top and bottom of image). It reduces the actual resolution and thus video quality. It should be 16:9 anamorphic, which will give a nice 850 x 480 image on screen. I would buy such a video.
It’s most likely too late to include with the album as a second disc, so why don’t you consider releasing it as a DVD single, which is essentially what Karmacoda did? They used a standard Amaray DVD case but I would recommend a standard CD jewel case. Make the artwork different. You’ll notice most commercial releases feature complementary artwork on minor related releases such as CD and DVD singles. It promotes collecting.
And finally, if the video is shot in HD, why don’t you consider selling it as a download in HD? You could have it formatted for Apple TV’s maximum resolution of 720 and buyers would have instant HD on Apple TV. There is currently very little content in this format. You would be cutting edge!

ryan don’t follow me around all day, boy. you crazy? though i seem to recall he poked his head into one of the early early episodes. i just spent like 20 minutes trying to figure out which one, but i can’t remember anymore.
he was my special guest on episode 32 though.
i’ll be doing some vidcasts with ryan for sure about the new lovespirals album, so you can look forward to that soon, very soon! i had thought of doing our band podcast as a vidcast, but he thinks the audio format works best for what we do. we’ll see!
