I had so much fun putting this set together today. Found some great new stuff on Soundcloud to fill in around a few tracks I had from elsewhere and I really love the more lo-fi direction it went in. There’s a charming nostalgic feel to a number of these tracks, which helps balance out the macho bravado of some cuts, and the futuristic edge of others. I honestly feel like this is one of the most old-school Chillcast mixes I’ve assembled in awhile. I hope you feel it, too! XO

I’ve got a sweet mix of bootleg remixes and originals including some big name and big hits, as well as as some newer talents on the comeup. Only a week late for First Friday LOL. Can I blame Mercury Retrograde? It’s finally going direct this weekend. I can def blame Chase Atlantic for making me stan out last Friday. Couldn’t resist putting together a set of my favorite songs from the 2017 season of The Chillcast! I almost uploaded it yesterday, but I figured you all were busy celebrating New Year’s Eve and would appreciate the show more today. Hopefully this mix will help get your New Year started off right. So unless I end up dropping a New Year’s Eve mix, this will be the last mix of 2017. Actually, I’m not totally sure if I’ll continue to do The Chillcast next year or not. This was my 11th year of podcasting, and I’ve gotta say, it feels a bit like a haunted house around here. I used to get 10,000 listens per episode, easy, when I was with PodShow/Mevio but now… sigh.  I still love discovering music, I still love promoting new talent, I still love mixing and finding that perfect crossfade, I’m just not sure I know where to find an audience for it anymore. Maybe it’s just the holiday blues talking here, or maybe it’s because Dave’s Lounge just threw in the towel this month, but it feels like my show might be dead and I’ve just been in denial.
