Anji shares her tales of technological woe, including last week's Chillcast #131 feed error debacle, the "ghost in the machine" affecting blog entries, how annoying the new MySpace music player is, the new Lovespirals This Truth EP, and hanging out with friends, including Joey of Scout, Azita of Matter Yoga, JG of Mercedes Motoring and Kenny Anderson of Elwood Clothing. (BTW, it turns out that YouTube has TONS of vids of Kenny skating, including a 411 Profile that has 2 old pics of JG from their Vegas days. Ha!)
Will just sent me a copy of his brand new Dive Index CD, Collisions: the Mid/Air Remixes, which is due out officially on Sept 26th. On this week's Chillcast #127, I played a remix of "Water In Our Hands" featuring the lovely Natalie Walker on vocals. Then I discovered that this CD also contains 2 videos, one of which is for the original version of "Water in our Hands." The video and animation are by Divya Srinivasan, an amazing Austin artist who worked on one of my all time favorite movies, Waking Life, so I had to share this video with you! Hope ya dig it.
Since my Twitter friends asked me to post this “outtake” video, here it is.. The strange sound that catches my attention while filming my Chillcast Video Edition intro was actually a tree falling on my roof! The whole house shook and the sound was much louder than my directional mic captures. The tree is currently just chillin’ against my roof, which sustained very little damage. The winds are howling like mad, and I’m totally trippin’, but the tree guy said he wouldn’t come out until the morning.
On October 28th, The Chillcast with Anji Bee will present a special interview feature with singer/songwriter, Beth Hirsch. She shares her personal story of success and struggle with the record industry that lead to her going independent. We’ll also be listening to music from her 3 solo albums and numerous collaborations with acts such as Air, D’Note, and Pale 3.
PLUS Beth is giving away 3 copies of her 2007 CD, Wholehearted!
Reluctantly, I have returned from my trip through Napa Valley and up to Humboldt County. I vowed to stay off the Internet and I can’t say I missed it much… Not that I didn’t miss all my friends on Twitter etc but it was nice to just get out and see a part of California that I’ve never been to before, to imagine living somewhere else with different scenery, different folks, and a different way of life. I’m sitting here drinking some dark roasted organic coffee from the North Coast Co-op, getting my thing together for this weekend’s Chillcast, and thought I’d share a few photos from my trip with ya’ll on my Flickr account. Enjoy!
