Anji Bee Vidcast #43

It’s a redcast this week as I record my first episode with my new audio setup in my freshly painted red room. I’m particularly chatty this week, dropping fan names right and left, showing you all the CDs I play on the upcoming Chillcast, as well as the updated Lovespirals digipac artwork, and my Helltastic t-shirt. I also re-announce the interactive contest Ryan and I first announced on Chillin’ with Lovespirals #39 – please, please enter that if you get a chance! More on the “Motherless Child” remix EP, going all digital, ShowGirls #9, my JibJab video and more. Other peeps mentioned are Corey Dennis, Zack Daggy, Joey of Scout. Chris Caulder, and Baratunde. You have no idea how much trouble this episode was… Ugh!

ohhhhh the stereo thing! well, i imported the imovie file into garageband and then exported it to mono and then you couldn’t tell that the audio was all on the left side.

had to download a special m-audio file to control the audio preferences settings so that future shows won’t have that problem.

of course, ryan figured all this out for me because i was just totally stressed out… he’s such an awesome tech support guy!

as far as cds go, you know, we’ll see. i’m hoping we can do the best audio quality possible because, come on, we record 24 bit files in pro tools! it sounds really good. i don’t want folks listening to 128k mp3s any more than you want to listen to them.

i personally rip cds to 320 aac. i did sound tests and found that to be pretty darned good. of course lossless is a bit better, but for ease of use with external devices, 320 aac gets it done.

don’t worry jason, i can always hook you up!

Sound came out stereo, so I can’t explain it. Sounded good.

Very disappointed to hear that you’ll be abandoning the CD format. Can you at least provide a lossless version? That’s the biggest factor for me as a collector if it has to be digital only. I also fuss over the cover art, which is one of the reasons I buy physical CDs (so I can scan my own). I’d like big art (min. 1000 x 1000 pixels), not very compressed.
