To celebrate the start of a new year, I put together a music video for the title track of our Lovespirals album, “Life Goes On,” featuring some of the more peaceful moments I filmed over the past 12 tumultuous months.

Lovespirals “Why Not Today?” Music Video
Extremely chill vibes with super smooth production, “Why Not Today?” pulls from from Lovespirals’ r&b/soul side with a little jazz and blues twist. Melancholic, dreamy, and filled with soft yearning for a better time and place, the video is a lovely reminder of the healing power of nature, even in this time of human disconnection and unease. I created the music video, as well as wrote the lyrics, performed the vocals, and aided in the songwriting and production.

The Chillin’ with Lovespirals band podcast makes another return! We have so much news to share this episode, including our new album charting pretty heavily, which is super fun. We get into some detail and background on our song, “Are You Lonely,” which has been picking up a little steam online, Ryan gets into the inspiration for the overall sound of ‘Life Goes On,’ Anji digs up some unreleased video, and more news and conversation. Lovespirals have a new collaboration with San Francisco band, Karmacoda out now. B invited Anji and her partner, Ryan Lum, to remix a track from their 2018 album, Intimate. “My Love” featuring the band’s new vocalist Jessica Ford, was the perfect fit for Lovespirals’ chill downtempo vibes. Jessica’s deeper vocal range makes an interesting contrast to Anji’s breathily ethereal backing vocals and Ryan’s production added a compelling dreaminess to the song.

Anji and Ryan return after an extended hiatus to a long form commentary show! We won’t call it a “podcast” per se, because it was initially filmed in video format, then bounced down to audio for Mixcloud. But Lovespirals are picking up the numbering of the show where they left off in 2011, at number 85. The musical duo sat down to discuss a recent Fleetwood Mac concert at The Forum, including some background on this podcast, the couple’s previous history with the venue and band, and commentary on the music and relationships of Fleetwood Mac, as well as how the band have affected and influenced Lovespirals. Featuring some audio from the concert as the duo give a song by song breakdown of the show setlist, it’s a good listen for fans of either band, and a great listen if you’re into both! YouTube personality Vegan Footsoldier has been fundraising for what he touts as “The Best Vegan Rock Album Ever” for some time now, and at last the album has dropped!
Anji and Ryan were credited as “Happy Healthy Vegan” — their YouTube channel handle — on the track “Jam” in which Ryan contributes bluesy electric guitar leads and Anji contributes her own lyrics and vocals/spoken word.
