Anyway . . . heard your promo and heard Darren from Science for Girls. Loved their CD and play it today. Anything new from Science for Girls to play for us?

I didn’t hear anything political in this episode other than her saying that she’s not sure why we celebrate the U.S.’s independence from England still 200 plus years after the fact. In fact, I don’t see which of the two nations that this comment is a jab at. But certainly, there’s no way that her comment even suggests that England is better than here (or vice versa). Obviously you read a lot into that comment, which was never there.

Speaking of tyranny, indeed we are not oppressed here in say a North Korean way via a ruthless dictator. But tyranny comes in different forms; here in the U.S. it’s a corporate tyranny. Our inability to pass a real health care reform bill, wall street reform, a sustainable energy policy, or why genetically modified foods aren’t labeled as such are all classic demonstrations of who really runs this country; the super wealthy maintainers of the status quo.

Hey Anji,

I’m a big fan of your work. Since a long time I wanted to tell you this: Please stay out of politics in your comments. Not everybody share your political opinion and I certainly don’t. Maybe that’s because I obviously travel the world more than you so I do know what a chance it could be to live in USA. If one day you experience what is tyranny and oppression by a government which I don’t wish you, believe me you will never ever ask why we celebrate July 4th. It will just be obvious to you as it is to me and to million of people who like myself immigrate LEGALLY to this country to enjoy Liberty without complaining and whining. You think England is better than L.A: well why don’t you try it. There is internet and we’ll still enjoy your show. And at that time you will be able to give your opinion based on facts.
