Ooooh my gawd!!! I was one of the winners of the SLS2 CDs!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!
I just got it in the mail and I’m listening to it now and TOTALLY chillaxing!!!

THANK YOU ANJI BEE for introducing me to such wicked awsome music!!!!!!

hey mo!

your wish is my command… i’m currently setting up a new feature for mid-march. i think you’re going to enjoy it, too.

🙂

Anji,

I loved hearing this special episode with Paul & Price. Their sounds are sophisticated and ridiculously chilled (I’m talking absolute zero chill). Can you please please please try to set up some more special episodes featuring a single artist/group? That would be awesome.

On a side note: I’ve been a fan of Paul & Price for a while and I totally asked them if I could have a hug when I go to LA because I love them so much, and they replied “Big Hug! Big Kiss!”

!!!

Anji,

There is nothing quite like going grocery shopping being in the hectic environment and listening to the Chillcast. Nice and soothing sort of like saying to hell with everybody else I am going to enjoy myself. Keep up the great work. You keep pumping them out and we will keep listening.

Thanks.

Ah I see, sorry I am a new listener (courtesy of accident hash) and I didn’t know. I come from listening to podcasts like KEXP Live Performances which does a couple songs followed by an interview segment and closing with a few songs. The shows are roughly 30 min long. Same with KCRW Morning Becomes Eclectic.

What about starting it off with a song to get us in the mood? I enjoy getting to know the bands, but if I’ve never heard of them, I’d love to hear a song before an interview. Or including songs for the podcast audience since Sirius has a time limit?

Or maybe it’s just me. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love chillcast and this interview was fantastic, I just love listening to the music too.

I liked it too 🙂 More great bands for me to explore. Indie music is so much more fun to explore as a listener as you feel your really supporting PEOPLE and not a corperate machine. All thanks to the devoted musicians and people like the fabulous Anji Bee. Way to go Anji!

I liked the format too Anji. And I totally agree with Japester in regards to the importance of forming the connection between the title and the artist. I loved this interview and I look forward to many more like it.

Loved the interview. I’ve always enjoyed it when you played Paul&Price songs in your chillcast or when I hear them on KCRW so this was _definitely_ a treat to hear them talk about their work.

Kudos to you for leading a smooth and interesting interview. and double kudos for timing the background music to match the interview perfectly!!

Totally Awsome!! Thank you for another amazing chillcast special!!!

It was just the way it should be. Anji’s played some of their music in the past and will again.

I think these features are extremely valuable in getting sales. From my experience, if I see a title, I might think it’s interesting but I don’t know enough about it, so I’ll pass it by. When a real connection between the artist and the title is established, I am so much more interested because the music now means something. It has a significance beyond mere sounds.

Top job, Anji!

anon: this is the way i’ve done all of my interview features. it isn’t the band’s decision; it’s mine. the band gave me permission to play their music on past episodes; i’ve linked to two of those in the shownotes now. its simply a matter of time, my program is only a half hour long, so a couple 6 minutes songs would really fill it up fast! i try to present a good overall feel of the band’s music as they discuss their process and career. pretty standard format for a band feature, i think! sorry you didn’t enjoy it.

This pisses me off. Could you not have played some of their (full) songs as part of the show instead of one ridiculously long interview?

Dawn and Drew did the same thing when they did a special with BT – all talk and no music.

I love chillcast but come on. You’re promoting these musicians – the least they could do is let you play some music for your audience. Background music is simply not good enough. Ugh…

Just finished up listening to the special episode. Very interesting stuff. I would love to hear more episodes like this in the future. I am a fairly recent fan of the Chillcast, but am glad I found it. Keep up the great work.
