Chillcast #375: The Zone [NSFW]

Most people think of me as being super chill and positive but I’ve got a dark side that The Weeknd appeals to. Inspired by seeing him perform recently at The Greek Theatre, I put together another of my infamous NSFW mixes. Its actually a pretty sexy mix, explicit language aside. Abel’s voice is featured heavily, with a combo of collaborations, bootleg remixes, and mashups. Drake, who made an appearance on stage, also figures in this mix. I thought about calling this week’s one hour episode “Tiny Violins” because I selected an awful lot of songs with strings in them, but decided instead to name it after the Lana Del Rey song that played such a haunting role in the soundtrack of The Great Gatsby. I was partly inspired by the bittersweet beauty of that film while selecting this playlist, as the overall sound is much more moody than upbeat.
