Finishing up production on Rebecca & Chris' artist spotlight for next Tuesday’s Unwind, and it is sounding pretty cool. They sent me more tracks from their brand new album, Three Thousand Miles, and it’s really good stuff! I had no idea she was working on such electronica based stuff. This feature would have worked just as well on The Chillcast! She’s come a long way from the more traditional jazz and AOR sound of her first album. I like both sides of her music, though, and totally relate to wanting to try new things. My work with Lovespirals is the same way. Anyway, watch for this special feature on May 1st at unwind.podshow.com!
This just in! The duo will also hold a CD giveaway contest as part of the feature – woo hoo!
This episode features acoustic folk, rock, and pop with a haunted Americana feel. You’ll hear what I mean… Some really excellent offerings from some very fine voices lending a fantastic mood to the music.
Amidst the flurry of talk about Sirius and XM satellite merging, it has been announced that PodShow is no longer with Sirius. I only just joined Adam Curry’s PodShow lineup this January, so it isn’t as near and dear to my heart as it is to the core group, but it is still a bit disappointing. Honestly, I have no idea if anyone was really tuning in to the radio broadcast or not… As Julien Smith warned me, listeners never seem to email or comment on blogs, but as Marcus Couch pointed out to me, bands and labels seem to be impressed by the dual delivery system of the shows. And when you tell family or friends you’re “on Sirius” they seem to be impressed as well. So I guess I’ve basically lost some bragging points and some extra work. You may not have realized it, but even my show was edited a bit each week to fit the Sirius format and window. So now I can go back to a full 30 minute show if I like! There’s got be a silver lining to every cloud, right?
This is a bit of a melancholy mix of Podsafe Music Network artists, highlighting world and jazz influenced music. I love the way each song flows into the next, musically and even lyrically. Prepare to unwind, my friends! Playlist:
The lovely Brazilian songstress Céu, whom I played on The Chillcast #56 (the episode that saved my life…), is the current iTunes Discovery Download. You simply must go grab this free song while you can!
Some say Lovespirals – and indeed, The Chillcast – is good make out music. What do I make out to? Listen in to find out… Oh, and you can win your very own copy of one of the CDs featured this episode with some very tasty tracks to add to your own make out playlist.

Just ran across a funny review of The Chillcast from February. The writer says I’m so relaxed that, “like, gosh, it must be hard for Anji to lift her finger to press the record button.” Hmm…
The gals get together minus SoccerGirl with some seriously uninformed discussion of the Don Imus controversy, the pains of tax day, and plans for PME 2007, plus Cali and Frank weigh in on the release of Final Cut Pro Studio 2, Karen explains her betty protest and we share the latest news from KFC of PodChick podcast, Cali Lewis of GeekBrief TV, Karla and Karen from Rumor Girls, and me.
Surprise! I’m back again with a sweet mix of electronica pop featuring some of the best podsafe female vocalists out there, including a double dose of Róisín Murphy. Looks like the PodShow upgrade was pretty painless, huh?

Please don’t fret if you can’t access any of my podcasts today. PodShow is upgrading their servers so we will be experiencing a bit of downtime while they get their thing together. I understand they will be providing some behind-the-scenes type entertainment on the site in the meantime, so you can always “tune-in” — so to speak — to take a peek while you are waiting! Check back soon to get the latest episodes of The Chillcast, Unwind, and Chillin’ with Anji Bee. Oh, and I’ll be taping a ShowGirls today, too…
