Hear how Gerry had his MySpace account unceremoniously deleted, was denied digital distribution by CDbaby, was contacted directly by a band to ‘cease and desist’, and how he turned his musical career around from outlaw underground remixer to chic retro-lounge downtempo fave of KCRW DJ, Raul Campos, as we preview tracks from his latest album, Cities, Streets, & Bebop Nights.
As I contributed vocals and lyrics to 3 of the tracks, I’m really excited about the album, but honestly, the whole thing is fantastic and includes collabs with the great Yasi Baby of Pacha Massive and posafe artist, Laura Harley, as well as great instrumental tracks with a sexy retro feel. There are a number of songs available on the podsafe music network to play on your show:

Thanks for checking out the promo. I appreciate any support you can lend in getting the word out about both this feature and Cities, Streets & Bebop Nights!
At long last the band have settled on the winner and runner-up of the PLP Remix Contest for This Truth! We know that 60 some producers have been anxiously awaiting our decision since April 1st, and we’re sorry to have kept them on pins and needles, but we needed time to sort through and really listen to all of the entries. There were quite a few really good mixes — more than we even dreamed we’d get! We decided the best, most fun way to announce our faves would be with a podcast, sharing the music and our thoughts on the tracks. We hope that both the contest entrants and our podcast listeners will enjoy it. The remixes are presented in no particular order, except for the winner and runner-up; the runner-up is presented first and the winner is presented last. The grand prize is an 8 gig iPod Touch, a year’s subscription to the PLP Producers’ Vault, and all 3 Lovespirals CDs autographed by the band, plus inclusion on an upcoming remix EP and promotion via the Podsafe Music Network and other online music services. Thanks so much to all of the producers for their hard work and especially to DJ Puzzle of Peace Love Productions and SynthVox for throwing the contest for us! My favorite gothtronica duo, Hungry Lucy, was kind enough to send me their DVD, Second Sight: Video Collection Vol. 1, from which today’s video hails. Enjoy this contemplative video for “Harvest” from their Before we Stand… We Crawl EP. And if you dig the band, be sure to subscribe to their fun and personal podcast, Tea with Hungry Lucy. You can buy both the CD and DVD featured this show directly from hungrylucy.com. Oh, and check out the Hungry Lucy remix on Lovespirals’ Motherless Child EP over at eMusic.
The April 2nd “100% Podsafe” issue of iProng Magazine features a hefty little interview with me, Anji Bee, discussing Lovespirals, going podsafe, getting into podcasting, music licensing, live performance vs studio recording, and much more. Also included this issue is a great article on eMusic vs Amazon downloads, interviews with fellow podsafe artists Geoff Smith and Natalie Gelman, and a feature article with Rich Robinson of the Black Crowes, who recently released their new single to the Podsafe Music Network. By the way, you can check out tons of Lovespirals tracks on the PMN for use on podcasts, internet radio, Second Life DJ sets, and more!
Remix Lovespirals‘ podsafe single, “This Truth,” from their latest album, Long Way From Home, for the PeaceLoveProduction Remix Contest! The finalist will win an iPod Touch, a year’s subscription to the PLP Producer’s Vault, and all 3 Lovespirals’ CDs - personally autographed by Anji Bee and Ryan Lum - plus inclusion on a Lovespirals remix digital EP and CD. The runner-up will win the 3 CDs plus inclusion on the remix EP and CD. Additionally, the top 5 remixes will be offered as podsafe singles on the Podsafe Music Network. The contest began 2/8/2008 and runs until 4/1/2008. Good luck!
In this special episode, we present our Second Life acoustic performance from Oct. 27th. This is the first live set in support of Long Way From Home, and the first Lovespirals Second Life performance. By the way, the folks from PodShow Island said we had 760 listeners on their audio streams in addition to the full house watching in-game, pretty crazy! Anyway, we hope you enjoy this stripped down set, recorded directly from our mixing board.

-- Adam Curry of Daily Source Code
"Anji's sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet voice... I remember the first time I ever heard her, way back in the day, I said she could read me a Chinese menu or the phone book and I would be all happy!"
-- C.C. Chapman of Accident Hash
"Anji's voice wouldn't be out of place in a smoky jazz or blues bar somewhere down in a dimly lit cellar. Sultry with a voice like syrupy silky satin with a marshmallow middle and a honey topping."
-- Most Recognizable Voices in Podcasting, Sept. 2007
"Cosiness abounds as the silken voiced Anji Bee - lead singer of chillout band Lovespirals - pours a cocktail of mellow dance music. Mmm..."
-- Radio Times, July 2007
"If you're looking for a different brand of 'grown and sexy' in the podcast world, check out Anji Bee. This young lady is bringing it - from production, to her voice, to the music selection - she is doing her thazizzle!"
-- Fave of Friday Favecast
"No other voice in the podosphere is more sultry than Anji Bee."

"Enjoying The Chillcast. It's seriously awesome. I listen to them like over and over again."
