BOCrew from Paris just dropped a single on Bandcamp called “Up All Night” by TheDeepr which features a vocal by Anji Bee. This song goes back to the Secret Mixter project held in 2010 on the CCMixter site. The site allows musicians to collaborate with vocalists and other musicians using files that are deemed as Creative Commons, which means that collaborations generally happen without artists’ direct input. This is one of the more impressive mixes that I’ve heard from the site.
First off I’d like to extend a hearty welcome to all of my new listeners over at The Movement HD Radio. The Chillcast just joined the Sunday night lineup and I’m excited to be the first chillout show on this great EDM station. Today’s show is chock full of cutting edge electronica music from some of the brightest new producers working primarily in the chill trap and chill step genres. Usually I only play music released in the past couple months, but I wanted to include a few slightly older tracks that slipped thru the cracks. 9 of the 14 songs are FREE DOWNLOADS, grab ’em from the links below.

I fell in love with the “Alive” single by Toddla T & Shola Ama when it first dropped late last year, so I was excited to discover there is a video for the song. The Alive video was produced by Saloon Films with direction from The Late Misters for Ninja Tune. In related news, Shola Ama just released a fab new single called “Boyfriend,” and Toddla T has an amazing remix coming out soon. Watch for that on The Chillcast with Anji Bee audio show as soon as its out!
Anji Bee has joined the The Movement radio, broadcasting online out of India. The Chillcast will air weekly on Sundays from 10-11 pm IST (9:30am PST) beginning May 5th. The station will rebroadcast each episode throughout the week at various times. The Movement is India’s first HD radio station which is both non-profit and ad-free, available free to stream 24/7 with over 2 dozen shows from DJs all over the world. The Chillcast is the first chillout show to join the primarily EDM focused station. Check out The Movement’s write up on The Chillcast and DJ Anji Bee on their official website.
First of all, thank you to everyone who wrote to tell me how much they enjoyed my Little Doozy mix! So, earlier this week I had Rihanna’s “Stay” stuck in my head, then lo and behold, I happened upon both a haunting live version and an epic remix of the song. Yay! Rounding out the show today are a plethora of new tunes featuring soulful vocals with a subtle emphasis on downtempo joints. There’s quite a few free downloads included, so be sure to grab your favorites from the links below!

Ryan Lum of Lovespirals recently launched a new site and video show called Happy Healthy Vegan, with the help of bandmate, Anji Bee. This mid-40’s duo share tips and information on their active vegan lifestyle, hoping to help their fans, friends, and family understand the connection between a plant-based, whole food diet and a healthy mind and body. After trial and error, moving from a standard American diet, to a vegetarian diet, to a vegan diet, to a raw diet, and finally honing in on their current 80/10/10 styled diet, Ryan was able to lose 70 pounds — while Anji lost 25 pounds — and both became much fitter and more youthful in the process. Begun in February 2013, this project is just getting started, but a number of episodes are already available on the Happy Healthy Vegan YouTube channel, so please subscribe to learn how to lose weight effortlessly while never going hungry, increase your energy, clear up your skin, and improve your overall fitness.

This week I present up and coming R&B artist, Tinashe. This young Los Angeles singer/songwriter/dancer is set to release her debut album on RCA this year, but she’s already released 2 amazing free albums independently as “mixtapes.” From her 2012 mixtape, Reverie, this is the sexy video for “Ecstasy.” This song was produced by K-BeatZ, while the video was directed by Smallz and Raskind. Follow Tinashe on Facebook to keep up with all the latest.
Today I’ve got a little doozy of a show lined up for ya, composed of an hour of cutting-edge genre-defying chilled-out electronica music. Its a pretty moody set that still manages to balance melancholic dreaminess with sexy beats and rhythms, and of course a healthy helping of sensual vocals. All but 2 of the songs are from the past few months, with a couple brand new ones, and 11 of the 13 tracks in today’s set are FREE downloads, so be sure to grab all your faves from the links below. Once again, this mix is commercial free for your chillout enjoyment!

A new “coffee table” book collecting stories and ephemera from the infamous LA underground club, Jabberjaw, has been released by Rizzoli Publishing. Anji Bee’s zine SUBSTITUTION had many ties to the club, having been sold at their concessions stand to club patrons, and the zine itself featured a number of show reviews and photographs taken there. Anji and her partner, Sam, even organized an event at Jabberjaw to launch the second issue of SUBSTITUTION. As such, Anji contributed a number of photographs and show flyers — as well as some text — to this archival book organized by club co-owner, Michelle Carr, and assembled by Bryan Ray Turcotte. Check out It All Dies Anyway: LA, Jabberjaw, and the End of and Era on Amazon.
Returning to the show today is Luxembourg artist, Sun Glitters. Today I present his video for “Tight,” the B-side of his fabulous new single on Lefse Records. This 2 song 7″ vinyl single also comes with a digital download card with 4 additional remixes. Sun Glitters is on tour, traveling across Europe. Keep up with all the latest on Sun Glitters Facebook Page.
