Zack Daggy is on a much needed vacation from podcasting this month and asked me to step in as a guest host for his weekly music show, The Mothpod. I thought I’d return the love he’s shown me and my band Lovespirals on his various podcasts with a 45 min set of my favorite Chillcast love songs. And by “love songs,” I don’t mean sappy ballads, no! This is pure, dead sexayyyy….
I’m back in town and gearing up for the release of my new album with several Second Life events! This week is a chill mix with lots of down home style guitar, inspired by my long road trip through fields and mountains. I’ve also got the winners of the MoShang contest and news about the Beth Hirsch feature!
I’m back and blabbering on… How I brought a stray cat and my best friend together after 13 years, taking time out for dusty old vintage clothes, C.C. Chapman in SL, Julien Smith at NME, ShowGirls afterparty, Lovespirals‘ new cd, remixes, and the new single/video, and wondering why my vidcast stats are down. Still love me? Then comment, dammit!
I’ll let my friends working on organization for the event tell the story:
On July 28/29, on 30 sims, avatars of all shapes and sizes will be participating in the virtual Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society. Last year, over $40,000 USD was raised to help fund research to find a cure. This year, that number is sure to shatter, with the number of sims (islands) expanded exponetially.
Donations in the past led to the HPV vaccine which will lead to the prevention of cervical cancer. $20 today could save the life of your mother, child, or best friend tomorrow.
2. Spread the word! Tell everyone you know that SL RFL is happening tomorrow and encourage them to spread the word.
* Email your friends!
* Join the Facebook group and invite others to come as well!
* Blog about it on your blog!
I’ve been wanting to do some more conversational Skype podcasts like the two I did with Julien Smith (Chillcast/In Over Your Head Special and Chillcast/In Over Your Head Special #2). Turned out that fellow podsafe musician and podcaster, Matthew Ebel, had some time to kill this week while chillin’ in Boston, so we thought it’d be fun to hook up for an informal chat about our common interests - music and podcasting, as well as everything that goes along with doing those things full time. I hope you enjoy this episode as much as we did recording it, and I look forward to your feedback on the idea of me doing Skypecasts more regularly. (BTW, I sure was tempted to call this the High Chill Special…)
Warning: a teensy bit of naughty language sneaks in here and there…
The show name has changed, but its the same ole Anji Bee you’ve come to know and love! This week I share a gift from Joe of Solipsistic Nation, admit my Unwind withdrawals, plan my bordello bedroom scheme, laugh about some feedback from Ed Roberts made while UStreamin’ with Matthew Ebel, and thank Chel Pixie for launching the Ning Anji Bee Fansite. Please remember to give the link love when you help promote me, m’kay?

"Anji Bee has the sexiest voice in podcasting!"
-- Adam Curry of Daily Source Code
"Anji's sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet voice... I remember the first time I ever heard her, way back in the day, I said she could read me a Chinese menu or the phone book and I would be all happy!"
-- C.C. Chapman of Accident Hash
"Anji's voice wouldn't be out of place in a smoky jazz or blues bar somewhere down in a dimly lit cellar. Sultry with a voice like syrupy silky satin with a marshmallow middle and a honey topping."
-- Most Recognizable Voices in Podcasting, Sept. 2007
"Cosiness abounds as the silken voiced Anji Bee - lead singer of chillout band Lovespirals - pours a cocktail of mellow dance music. Mmm..."
-- Radio Times, July 2007
"If you're looking for a different brand of 'grown and sexy' in the podcast world, check out Anji Bee. This young lady is bringing it - from production, to her voice, to the music selection - she is doing her thazizzle!"
-- Fave of Friday Favecast
"No other voice in the podosphere is more sultry than Anji Bee."
-- Macedonia, Radio BSOTS
"Anji Bee, a musician and former radio DJ, gives "stage" to artists who might not otherwise be discovered. Bee's podcast exposes me to independent artists I've never heard of, and subscribing to it eliminates the need to forage for new music."
- La Shawn Barber's Corner
"Enjoying The Chillcast. It's seriously awesome. I listen to them like over and over again."
-- Julien Smith of In Over Your Head
"I just love the tunes Anji Bee selects and her comments on them. I no longer have to search for music to be creative; I just susbcribe to The Chillcast."
-- Karen of Rumor Girls
"Like having a cocktail of lovely tunes and honey poured directly into your ear. Well-chosen music, voice links that make you feel cosy inside, it all adds up to an essential weekly download."
-- Good Podcast Guide, Nov 2006
"If you're in the mood for chillout music, this should be your first stop. Her voice alone is the perfect complement for a long drive or any escape from the hectic rush of everday life. You're gonna love it."
-- DJ Come of Age, Nov 2007
