Candle for Tibet Protest Today

I recognize that I am not known for socio-political commentary but under my “chilled” persona I actually have rather strong beliefs about the world we live in and its many injustices. I believe Candle 4 Tibet could help raise awareness in a peaceful way, which is important to me. If you agree that Tibet should be free, then please join me at candle4tibet.ning.com TODAY to participate in online and/or public non-violent protest.

Fan Discovers Lovespirals via MoShang via Second Life

Second Arts Blog

Its always interesting to find out how fans discover my music and podcast, and sometimes the connections are surprising. A recent post on Second Arts blog details Morris Vig’s musical journey, courtesy of Second Life. Apparently a chance MoShang performance in SL lead to the discovery of Lovespirals (via MoShang’s remix of “Motherless Child,” no doubt), as well as The Chillcast with Anji Bee, which of course has always been a strong supporter of MoShang. Even more fun is that MoShang was Vig’s gateway into the chillout music scene. May I be the first to say, “Welcome!”

Daily Source Code Features Beth Hirsch

Adam Curry just played “Our Song” on his Daily Source Code Fubar Friday Edition this week on my recommendation. I’d been trying to turn him onto Beth Hirsch’s Podsafe Music Network page for a few weeks and finally hit upon the perfect track from her new album, Wholehearted, for his show. Luckily, Beth was gracious enough to grant this song podsafe status for Adam’s use. As an added twist to the story, I sent my 2nd request to Adam via his Official Musicologist, Jersey Todd, whom I suspected would love Beth, as well. Looks I was right on both counts! Now, the funny part of the story is that after all my finagling, that nut Adam told his audience the song request came via “the incredibly desirable but ever unreachable Anji Bee.” Huh?

Beth is an amazing singer/songwriter and I absolutely love her new album! I’m a big supporter of her music on The Chillcast and want to spread the love. If you haven’t heard it already, be sure to check out my Beth Hirsch interview feature from last October, or the Chillcast Video Edition featuring Beth Hirsch from December. If you’re into music production yourself, you might want to take a crack at the Acid Planet Beth Hirsch Remix Contest for “Our Song. But whatever you do, be sure to check out Wholehearted on eMusic. And speaking of eMusic, check out eMusic.com/chillcast for a special 14 day trial and 35 songs downloads free as part of my new Chillcast sponsorship!

Tree Falls on House During Vidcast Taping

Since my Twitter friends asked me to post this “outtake” video, here it is.. The strange sound that catches my attention while filming my Chillcast Video Edition intro was actually a tree falling on my roof! The whole house shook and the sound was much louder than my directional mic captures. The tree is currently just chillin’ against my roof, which sustained very little damage. The winds are howling like mad, and I’m totally trippin’, but the tree guy said he wouldn’t come out until the morning. 🙁

More On This Album

Happy All Hallow’s Day, folks! Thought I’d share this awesome little track from Todd Fancey with ya tonight. I was with him earlier today on his me.dium Halloween RockMe Tour which was fun and crazy until Todd’s PC crashed, poor guy. Anyway, his music rocks, in a soft rock 70’s way. You’ll be hearing more on the Chillcast for sure! The next episode is shaping up to be chock full of Americana, dream pop, alt. country, indie rock and pop goodness – quite possibly with no electronica whatsoever. Shock!

Back from Humboldt, Baby!

Anji with Carson Mansion

Reluctantly, I have returned from my trip through Napa Valley and up to Humboldt County. I vowed to stay off the Internet and I can’t say I missed it much… Not that I didn’t miss all my friends on Twitter etc but it was nice to just get out and see a part of California that I’ve never been to before, to imagine living somewhere else with different scenery, different folks, and a different way of life. I’m sitting here drinking some dark roasted organic coffee from the North Coast Co-op, getting my thing together for this weekend’s Chillcast, and thought I’d share a few photos from my trip with ya’ll on my Flickr account. Enjoy!

Lovespirals to Attend New Media Expo

Ryan and I will be attending the New Media Expo for our 2nd year. I suppose most people don’t think of Ryan as a podcaster, but he is my co-host on the Chillin’ with Lovespirals: Insights of an Indie Band podcast. CC and Karen have both commented on his great voice, which I find to be quite distinct. But even if you don’t recognize his voice, you can’t possibly miss the 6′ 5″ guy with really long hair and exotic baby face wandering around with me. Come up and say “hi” to us, we’re quite friendly and we will have copies of our brand new CD with us, which we’ll be happy to autograph and sell you for the low low Expo price of just $10.00. 😀 We’ll be at the ExtemePods & RumorGirls party tonight, so if you’re going — we’ll see ya there!

Oh! And I will be accepting a People’s Choice Podcast Award for my work with ShowGirls, on Friday at 4pm in Expo Hall B. Come meet the gals there!!!
