This week’s episode is a spotlight on the CC Asia Band release, CABACA. This 21 song album is the collaborative effort of dozens of artists spanning the Asia-Pacific region in the spirit of share and share alike. Friend of the show, MoShang, was one of the pivotal figures in the completion of this collection of songs, and you can hear his unmistakable stamp on several of the productions. I am very proud to bring you a small taste of the release and strongly encourage you to go download the full set — and if you’re a producer yourself, why not grab the remix files to contribute your own mix to this ongoing project? This is a Creative Commons release so podcasters, radio DJs, Second Life club owners, film makers etc – please feel free to use these songs, as well.

The first artist ever to grace the vidcast returns for their 3rd time with their 3rd video from their 3rd studio album – how do you like that? 3-3-3 must mean something in numerology! As promised, here is the WORLD PREMIER of the brand new video by the one and only Karmacoda from the capital of creativity, San Francisco. “Make Like Mine” hails from the band’s 2007 album, Illuminate, and is one of my personal faves. This breathtaking video was created by Luis Otavio Feldens, who also did their previous video for “Skylines.” I am so proud to bring this video to you, I am bursting!

Ryan and Anji have been distracted by the new iPod 3G, checking out the music apps, making ringtones, and installing the podcasters iKit to make the podcast easily streamable from your iPod (or iPod Touch). Still, they’ve continued working on music and share a clip and behind the music story of their latest song in progress. The band also chat about Geoff Smith’s ringtone service, Last.FM paying royalties for song streaming, and meeting Brad of The National Pool in WOW. And, of course, they sneak in one more mention of Hungry Lucy, in particular, their song “Storm.” Just realized that, though we announce this as episode #54, technically it’s #55 because of the Lovespiralsgasms episode – shoot!

Happy 4th, my fellow Americans! Last year I did an IndepenDANCE DJ Mix, so this year I thought I’d do an INDIEpendance Day Mix. Tee hee. Rather than upbeat house etc I went with pure chillout, since that’s what you guys seem to dig and I have plennnnnnnty of it to share! The Chillcast Video Edition returns with this fun video for the MoShang song, “Waiting for the Bus,” from his debut 2004 album, Made in Taiwan. This comes from a 45 minute video set that he uses in live performances. I’m really excited about a collaborative Creative Commons project that MoShang invited me to join called the CC Asia Band (or CABACA) which is due out soon. Until then, you can check out MoShang’s own CC album project, Asian Variations, in my first-ever vidcast contest! Of course, you can all go download this chilled set of remixes for free, but I have one of the limited edition CDs to give to a random lucky winner. In case you didn’t hear the band’s 1 hour guest spot on Auralgasms Radio last night, don’t cry!
