This week’s has a mellower mood with a focus on more Ambient and Dream Pop styled music. It was inspired by 2 recent Magnatune releases. Noticed I didn’t use any music from Promonet this week, and just one from the Podsafe Music Network. The rest of the lineup comes directly from the bands or labels as special permissions tracks. Thanks to Projekt, Robert Rich, and All India Radio for the use of their music.
It seems I caught iPhone 3G fever Friday, and thus the show was delayed until my old Sunday release date. But I promise the show is well worth the wait as I have a killer lineup AND a killer contest!!! Plus I’ve got several special permissions tracks from outstanding new releases that you won’t want to miss. Now if only someone could build me a Chillcast App for the 3G…

After a year’s hiatus, the show has returned to celebrate the Lovely Ladies of Ryan Lum! Hee hee. This show has been a long time coming, just like the release of new CDs by two of Ryan’s former collaborators, Suzanne Perry and Jennifer Ryan Wilde. I thought I’d put together a set in honor of we female vocalists that have worked with Ryan for your listening pleasure. As for the future of the show, I’m thinking I can do it monthly, and am already looking forward to the next edition, as I have more great music with female vocalists waiting in the wings…

Just got a copy of the new Melou album and it is great. To celebrate, I’ve got a fantastic mix of “lovely ladies” tunes — all from 2008 — plus a Melou CD giveaway! This is the second 45 minute mix, and I think the extra tracks make it that much more fun. It sure is nice to get back to some vocal driven songs after last week… Oh, and for an extra special treat, stay tuned to the very end of the show for a bit of news directly from Kirsty Hawkshaw!
Melou’s fantastic sophomore album, Battery Park, is out now and you can get your hands on a free copy simply by posting a comment on this post, right here on anjibee.com! I will select a winner at random no sooner than 6/17/2008 - so get to it and good luck!
Ryan and Anji hop back in the saddle for a retooled post-PME extravaganza! OK, so they just added an outro song and intro script, but it’s still pretty cool… The band tell how they almost missed the Expo because of Bones, discuss recent song placements, answer fan email, announce upcoming 2007 releases and more!

-- Adam Curry of Daily Source Code
"Anji's sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet voice... I remember the first time I ever heard her, way back in the day, I said she could read me a Chinese menu or the phone book and I would be all happy!"
-- C.C. Chapman of Accident Hash
"Anji's voice wouldn't be out of place in a smoky jazz or blues bar somewhere down in a dimly lit cellar. Sultry with a voice like syrupy silky satin with a marshmallow middle and a honey topping."
-- Most Recognizable Voices in Podcasting, Sept. 2007
"Cosiness abounds as the silken voiced Anji Bee - lead singer of chillout band Lovespirals - pours a cocktail of mellow dance music. Mmm..."
-- Radio Times, July 2007
"If you're looking for a different brand of 'grown and sexy' in the podcast world, check out Anji Bee. This young lady is bringing it - from production, to her voice, to the music selection - she is doing her thazizzle!"
-- Fave of Friday Favecast
"No other voice in the podosphere is more sultry than Anji Bee."

"Enjoying The Chillcast. It's seriously awesome. I listen to them like over and over again."
