Get ready to chillout to one hour of Eastern World influenced and/or created electronica music. This set is chock full of mysterious vocals, soothing flutes, intricate percussion, tinkling cymbals plus plenty of groovy beats and sultry rhythms. I say “Eastern World” because its a mix of Far and Middle East music influences in this set. Of course there are copious Western influences, as well. Chillcast #208: Hot & Cold

This has been a really unusual week. I started it out in the desert sweating from a heatwave and ended it by the coast shivering in the wind. Somehow the music in today’s Chillcast is a bit hot and cold, as well. The dance grooves are quite gentle, though the emotions are strong. I didn’t plan it purposely, but there seems to be quite a few breakup songs in the mix. But don’t worry, far from being depressing, the overall feel of this mix is sensual and lush. Look forward to both female and male vocal tunes as well as a few instrumentals. And don’t forget to grab the great free downloads provided by some of the bands below!

Lovespirals are back with tons of stories, mostly related to their upcoming new album, Future Past. The duo just returned from a trip up North to master the album with Robert Rich, and throw an intimate pre-release listening party at the BlizzzzCrib with a few friends including members of Karmacoda, Under, and Falling You, as well as band photographer, Susan Jennings, and Sinikus and Sarika of Below Zero. The band also discuss finalizing CD artwork with Scott of ithinkitsnice and going green by manufacturing with Groove House Records. Ryan and Anji also talk about attending the Immersion Festival and hanging out with Steve Roach and Loren Nerell afterwards at Noisebug. The show closes with a clip from the opening track of Future Past, “Home.”
