Chillcast #208: Hot & Cold

This has been a really unusual week. I started it out in the desert sweating from a heatwave and ended it by the coast shivering in the wind. Somehow the music in today’s Chillcast is a bit hot and cold, as well. The dance grooves are quite gentle, though the emotions are strong. I didn’t plan it purposely, but there seems to be quite a few breakup songs in the mix. But don’t worry, far from being depressing, the overall feel of this mix is sensual and lush. Look forward to both female and male vocal tunes as well as a few instrumentals. And don’t forget to grab the great free downloads provided by some of the bands below!

Last week I gave away a pair of tickets to a great event going on Nov 24th in San Fran called Le Chill Du Nord. The contest come up suddenly as I was recording the voice-overs, so this week I’m featuring music by the bands involved in the event. This week’s episode is quite reminiscent of my short-lived podsafe music podcast, Unwind, which – in case you aren’t familiar with it – was designed to be listened to as you drift off to sleep. You see, I had a mind shattering headache the day I put this together, so I really needed to keep things chill.
