Karmacoda Single Features Anji Bee + Beth Hirsch

San Francisco band, Karmacoda, recently released the first single from their upcoming fourth album, Eternal. “Love Will Turn Your Head Around” is multi-artist collaboration featuring vocals and lyrics by — not only Anji Bee — but also one of her musical idols, Beth Hirsch, who was famously featured on Air’s hit album Moon Safari. “Love Will Turn Your Head Around” debuted at #3 on the Below Zero Top 10 chart for April 17th, and has been featured on the Pure Bliss Vocals site, Dave’s Lounge, Properly Chilled, SomaFM’s Lush station, Kimberly Wilson’s Tranquility du Jour, The Mothpod, Expand Your Musical Horizons, and of course, The Chillcast, where is was first premiered.

You can purchase the Love Will Turn Your Head Around Single on iTunes. It includes the original 6 and a half minute version, plus a radio edit. Karmacoda’s album, Eternal, is due out August 2nd, 2011.

You can also listen to the single on YouTube, Spotify, and other digital music services.

Sorry this week’s show is running late. I’ve been up to my eyeballs in all things Lovespirals, preparing for the imminent release of our new CD, Future Past. Today I’m premiering our first single from the album and I’m as nervous as a mother sending her child off to their first day at school! Our digipaks are all arriving here today via FedEx and I’m in a highly excitable state, but I still managed to put together a nice little show for ya’ll. Of particular note is the 3 song set of Drum ‘n’ Bass I close out with – quite rousing!

Lovespirals are back with tons of stories, mostly related to their upcoming new album, Future Past. The duo just returned from a trip up North to master the album with Robert Rich, and throw an intimate pre-release listening party at the BlizzzzCrib with a few friends including members of Karmacoda, Under, and Falling You, as well as band photographer, Susan Jennings, and Sinikus and Sarika of Below Zero. The band also discuss finalizing CD artwork with Scott of ithinkitsnice and going green by manufacturing with Groove House Records. Ryan and Anji also talk about attending the Immersion Festival and hanging out with Steve Roach and Loren Nerell afterwards at Noisebug. The show closes with a clip from the opening track of Future Past, “Home.”

Lovespirals finally take a moment for the first band podcast of the year! Anji starts it off with a quick overview of the past month, including seeing the band’s good pal, CC Chapman, get interviewed by CNN during the Presidential Inauguration — go CC! Then the band get into the nitty gritty of recent events like the latest neighbor noise torments and the big So Cal rainstorm, plus hating on Grammys, announcing the official release date and chart news of the Damien.S VS Lovespirals remix EP of “This Truth” on Loverush Digital, rediscovering Atmospheric Drum & Bass (see: Blu Mar Ten and Below Zero), writing and recording songs for the new album, more cable & TV placements, pimping the new Lovespirals Twitter account, discussing how using a cute picture of a girl will get you more friends on Twitter (see: Azita of Matter Yoga), getting excited over the new Dalai Lama Twitter account (turns out it’s not the REAL thing…), seeing BB King in concert, buying tickets for Robert Cray and The Dead, pimping the Lovespirals Facebook Page, and being confused if people communicate with us via site comment, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace or email (Bente DID comment at the blog, btw!). Grooveblaster CD Featured on Below Zero

below zero beats The Grooveblaster‘s new album, Cities, Streets & Bebop Nights, is the featured album on the ultra cool Below Zero radio show and blog this week. As you probably know, I contributed vocals and lyrics to 3 tracks on this album (including a remix of my band,  Lovespirals), alongside great collaborations with Yasi Baby! of Pacha Massive, Laura Harley, and Daca Kopanja. This top rated radio show airs Sunday nights in San Francisco on Energy FM 92.7 from 8 pm to Midnight (PST) and in Paris on Tonic FM Mondays 12 – 1 am (PST) and Fridays 11 – 12 pm (PST).
