Today’s musical guest is one of my faves, Ernesto! Ernesto is the pseudonym of Swedish vocalist and producer, Jonatan Bäckelie. He recently announced that he’ll begin releasing music under his given name later this year, and you’re sure to hear that on the Chillcast audio show. Taking a trip down memory lane, this is a brand new video for the 2007 Ernesto classic, “Sick and Tired.” Music video filmed and edited by Johan Eileryd of Entrepreneur.

It is with great pleasure that I present a very special 1-hour interview feature on Swedish singer/songwriter/producer, Ernesto! He just released his 4th full-length album, Suffice Suffice, and I’m excited to share songs from this highly personal artistic effort with you. As a huge fan of his work, it was a joy to speak with him about his musical background, songwriting and recording history, personal beliefs, and the process of putting this album together. Jonatan is quite intelligent and well spoken, as well as an incredibly talented songwriter and soulful singer, so you are in for a treat!

Singer/songwriter, Paul Mac Innes, is the focus of this week’s special Chillcast artist feature. Well its that time of the year, my loyal listeners, that time of the year we spread holiday cheer. Every year I think I won’t find enough new holiday music to make a set, but once again, I found a ton of new tracks for all of your holiday get-togethers. Excitingly, 11 songs are free downloads, check out the shownotes for links! This set flows from the serious and sublime to the downright silly, with a  mix of traditional and contemporary sounds — and not all of it is strictly electronica. Nearly everyone included has been featured on The Chillcast before, and some of them are regulars, like Karmacoda, who open up the show with a brand new song released free to their fans this week. I swear, sometimes the shows just put themselves together. Checked out some cool new promos this week which suggested connections to other recent promos, and before ya know it, I had one tizight little mix goin’ on! Electronica subgenres have evolved to the point that I am seriously confused as to how to classify the music I’m playing — but I think I can safely say there’s some pretty cutting edge stuff here. Look forward to lots of great vocals with personality galore and hooks you can not deny. This is an upbeat but slightly dark set, well suited to late night listening driving alone on an empty highway or just chillin’ with headphones in your bedroom.
