Hopefully you discovered my sneak attack 90 minute DJ Mix that I released on Monday. If not, then you have 2 shows to look forward to this week! Anji Bee Interview on MusicTap

Matt Rowe of MusicTap recently interviewed Anji Bee for a feature on the newly revamped music site. Entitled, Quality Time With Anji Bee of Lovespirals and Chillcast, the piece goes into some depth about Anji’s thoughts on the current state of music while looking into the origins of her Chillcuts Digital label, the creation of her new The Chillcast with Anji Bee: 5 Years of Chillin’ compilation, and how she selects music for her weekly podcast, The Chillcast with Anji Bee. Matt has been a long time supporter of Anji’s band, Lovespirals. He featured the duo in 2006 with his MusicTap piece, Honey and Cool Jazz ‘n’ Rock: An Interview with Ryan Lum and Anji Bee of Lovespirals.

As you probably know by now, Lovespirals is my duo along with musician/producer, Ryan Lum. We just released a brand new song as part of my 5 Years of Chillin’ compilation (which Ryan helped me organize, BTW…) called “Try To Forget”. To help promote the album I created a video for our song, as well as a 60 second album teaser. Check them both out today in this episode which also includes a special contest!

Note: These lyrics were originally penned in 2006 during a Lovespirals songwriting session. 2 versions of this song were created in 2010, the first one for The Grooveblaster and the second one for my debut solo album. I released by version first on the ‘5 Years of Chillin’ compilation, created to celebrate the 5th anniversary of The Chillcast with Anji Bee. Shortly thereafter, Grooveblaster’s album came out with his version. In late 2011, I began working with 3345 Music on a remix EP, which resulted in 2 excellent mixes by Intensity of Sound and one more by 3C. The original mix was also featured on my debut solo album, “Love Me Leave Me,” released in late 2013.

Let’s really get this party started for the 5th Anniversary of The Chillcast with Anji Bee! This week I finally let you in on my big surprise; a free one hour compilation of chill tunes called 5 Years of Chillin’. Rather than play all the tunes in one set, I’m mixing a few of them in with other new releases and saving the rest for next week. I’m super excited to premier brand new song by my band Lovespirals AND a solo Anji Bee song!!!  I’m also hosting an AMAZING contest for Balligomingo this week! Too much good stuff, I tell ya.
