At long last, it is my pleasure to present this Beth Hirsch interview special feature and contest! I adore her work and really love her new album, Wholehearted, so it was an honor to talk to her about her many and varied experiences in the music industry over the past decade. Join me as we explore Beth’s discography, sampling tracks from nearly all points of her career. Huge thanks to Beth for sharing her music with the Chillcast listeners! If you enjoy the feature, be sure to let her know.
Anji Riel and Ryan Lumley of Lovespirals setting up for our first ever performance in Second Life tonight, Sat. October 27th, at 7pm SLT (PST) on PodShow-SoHo Island. They tell me the sim is gonna fill up fast, so be sure to get there on time so you aren’t left out!
Lovespirals are featured on today’s Accident Hash. CC Chapman plays his favorite track from Long Way From Home, the album opener “Caught in the Groove.” He also announces our Second Life show on PodShow Island tomorrow night, which Accident Hash is co-presenting, despite the fact that CC is attending Podcamp Boston and won’t have good enough Internet connectivity to attend. 🙁

Anji “Riel” and Ryan “Lumley” of Lovespirals in Second Life
I’m back in town and gearing up for the release of my new album with several Second Life events! This week is a chill mix with lots of down home style guitar, inspired by my long road trip through fields and mountains. I’ve also got the winners of the MoShang contest and news about the Beth Hirsch feature!
There will be two Second Life events going on next week on PodShow/SoHo Island for the official release of Lovespirals’ Long Way From Home CD. First is a listening party for both the new album and the Motherless Child EP on Tuesday, October 23rd at 7pm SLT. Then, on Saturday, October 27th, Lovespirals will perform for the first time in Second Life, also at 7 pm SLT on PodShow/SoHo Island. Ryan “Lumley” and Anji “Riel” will play an acoustic set of songs from all 3 Lovespirals albums. If you haven’t yet joined Second Life, now would be the time to do it! Lovespirals live events are few and far between…
On October 28th, The Chillcast with Anji Bee will present a special interview feature with singer/songwriter, Beth Hirsch. She shares her personal story of success and struggle with the record industry that lead to her going independent. We’ll also be listening to music from her 3 solo albums and numerous collaborations with acts such as Air, D’Note, and Pale 3.
PLUS Beth is giving away 3 copies of her 2007 CD, Wholehearted!
Reluctantly, I have returned from my trip through Napa Valley and up to Humboldt County. I vowed to stay off the Internet and I can’t say I missed it much… Not that I didn’t miss all my friends on Twitter etc but it was nice to just get out and see a part of California that I’ve never been to before, to imagine living somewhere else with different scenery, different folks, and a different way of life. I’m sitting here drinking some dark roasted organic coffee from the North Coast Co-op, getting my thing together for this weekend’s Chillcast, and thought I’d share a few photos from my trip with ya’ll on my Flickr account. Enjoy!
