Its been awhile since I dropped an extended DJ set on you, I know. With all of this sultry southern california summer weather this week, I was inspired to delve into all of the great house tunes that have been coming in recently. Primarily vocal and deep house, this 90 min mix is soulful and sensual, perfect for after-hours enjoyment. Oh, hey, I just updated the show logo today with a new portrait taken by Aga Furtok. Let me know what you think of the new look!
Returning to the show is Phoenix band, Mr. Meeble. Band leader, Devin Fleenor, has gotten really into lasers and their latest video gives us a peek at his custom infrared projection bodysuit that he wears on stage. “Star Power” hails from the Nostalgic for Now EP which was an IndieGoGo perk from their big European tour last year. Its now been released to the public, so go pick yourself up a copy!
Usually I post dance mixes for the Fourth of July but with the holiday hitting midweek and me doing the audio show every other week now, I kinda missed the boat. However, I did select these tunes for you on Independence Day so it’s got a sweet party flavor. Once again, today’s show flows from soft and dreamy to sensually upbeat, but with a funkier retro vibe this time around. I’m continuing to explore lovestep and chillwave, plus all of its mutations, as well as delving into various forms of house, with a mix of vocal fronted and vocal sample work. There’s some great free downloads included, so be sure to pick those up from the links in the show notes below. Enjoy!

I’ve got a little something different for you this episode. If you’ve been listening to The Chillcast audio show recently, then you know I’ve been really into UK producer, Stumbleine, and have discovered many new artists through him. A fantastic new 12″ just dropped on Fent Plates by Asa and With Joyful Lips, with a remix by Stumbleine. Today we’re checking out Kasper Laier Plougmand‘s gorgeous teaser video for the release.
Today’s show flows from delicately soft and dreamy to sensually upbeat and highly danceable. The first half features primarily lovestep, while the second favors deep house, and most everything highlights lovely female vocals, both sampled and full lyrics. I’ve got a ton of brand new releases plus a couple classics from earlier this year, and a bootleg remix from SoundCloud. There are 3 free downloads in the set, but one is from a free EP and another is from a free comp, so be sure to check those out!
Today’s musical guest is Georgia, USA indie pop artist, Meiko. The lead single from her new album, Bright Side, is the super catchy “Leave the Lights On.” Paul Cummings directed this continuous-shot music video co-starring Lie To Me heart throb, Brendan Hines. Enter the Meiko “Leave the Lights On” Remix Contest for a chance to win $500, autographed band merch, and a place on an upcoming Spotify-exclusive release. Check out the WKWRD remix of “Leave The Lights On” on Chillcast #311!
I’m honestly now sure how to sum up the overall vibe of today’s show, as I’m mixing genres to my heart’s delight. I even included a mashup today, which might be a first for the show! I just hope you’re into my vibes, baby. I must admit I went a little heavy on the Stumbleine this week as he’s one of my favorite new discoveries and he’s got several new releases and collaborations out right now. Lucky for you I also went pretty heavy on free downloads – 7 in all. Be sure to grab ’em from the links below.

Told ya I’d be back again before my vacay! And I’m keeping it super chill for your Memorial Day weekend, with a mix of vocal and instrumental tracks with a distinctly chilled vibe. Some great new chillout releases have come in over the past month, so I’m highlighting those, plus I’ve sprinkled in a bit of retro-influenced nudisco, nufunk, lovestep, and what-have-you. Its a sensual mix you’re sure to love. Don’t forget to check out the 3 killer free downloads included in the links below.

Couldn’t resist making a new show on my “week off” because there’s been so many great releases recently and I just can’t squeeze it all into 2 shows a month! There’s a few new albums that I can’t get enough, in particular, so I couldn’t wait to share some of those tunes with you. Once again, this set is fairly spacey but with lots of soul, and ends on a very upbeat note. There’s some amazing free downloads in this set, so be sure to pick those up via the links listed below.
