Happy 4th, my fellow Americans! Last year I did an IndepenDANCE DJ Mix, so this year I thought I’d do an INDIEpendance Day Mix. Tee hee. Rather than upbeat house etc I went with pure chillout, since that’s what you guys seem to dig and I have plennnnnnnty of it to share! Well, OK, there may be a few house and trance tracks, but still, it’s pretty mellow - great for a dinner party or chillin’ by the pool. Music provided by Podsafe Music Network and Promonet. Special thanks go to HAM guy for the great CC photo of fireworks! Wanna keep the party going? Check out more extended Chillcast DJ Mixes.

Back from camping and back at it… This week I present a fairly upbeat mix featuring yet more lovely ladies on vocals. We’ve got several remixes and lots of electronica in this 45 min set, plus the winners of the Rosey CD Contest, and a great limited time offer from my new sponsor, Drobo! Don’t miss my mini-feature with talented singer/songwriter, Celia Chavez, on the “Color Him Father Collabocast” this Father’s Day over at the RhythmsInBlackSatin site.
While some people enjoy crowded, loud pubs on St. Patrick’s Day, others prefer to chill out. That would be me! Kick back to this 90 minute mix set of deep house and downtempo tunes selected especially for your listening pleasure.

This week I present a very special extended collabocast edition of The Chillcast with the help of my 16 of my fellow music podcasters. This is by far the biggest podcast project I’ve put together to date and I am really proud of how well it turned out. This episode was inspired by an email from my listener, Nik, from Northern Illinois University. I’ll explain more in the show intro… Its been a very intense year for many of us and I really appreciate the outpouring of love and support from everyone that I’ve received and wanted to share some of that love with Nik and his friends, as well as Tony Pucci and his family, and many others who I’ve spoken with privately in recent weeks but won’t call out by name… Thank you so very much to all of the podcasters and bands who participated, and if you didn’t get a chance to collaborate this time around, don’t worry, this won’t be the last collabocast I do! One last note, this episode is a bit of a cross between the normal Chillcast fare and the sound of my old Unwind podcast, if you’ve ever checked that out. Enjoy!

"Anji Bee has the sexiest voice in podcasting!"
-- Adam Curry of Daily Source Code
"Anji's sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet voice... I remember the first time I ever heard her, way back in the day, I said she could read me a Chinese menu or the phone book and I would be all happy!"
-- C.C. Chapman of Accident Hash
"Anji's voice wouldn't be out of place in a smoky jazz or blues bar somewhere down in a dimly lit cellar. Sultry with a voice like syrupy silky satin with a marshmallow middle and a honey topping."
-- Most Recognizable Voices in Podcasting, Sept. 2007
"Cosiness abounds as the silken voiced Anji Bee - lead singer of chillout band Lovespirals - pours a cocktail of mellow dance music. Mmm..."
-- Radio Times, July 2007
"If you're looking for a different brand of 'grown and sexy' in the podcast world, check out Anji Bee. This young lady is bringing it - from production, to her voice, to the music selection - she is doing her thazizzle!"
-- Fave of Friday Favecast
"No other voice in the podosphere is more sultry than Anji Bee."
-- Macedonia, Radio BSOTS
"Anji Bee, a musician and former radio DJ, gives "stage" to artists who might not otherwise be discovered. Bee's podcast exposes me to independent artists I've never heard of, and subscribing to it eliminates the need to forage for new music."
- La Shawn Barber's Corner
"Enjoying The Chillcast. It's seriously awesome. I listen to them like over and over again."
-- Julien Smith of In Over Your Head
"I just love the tunes Anji Bee selects and her comments on them. I no longer have to search for music to be creative; I just susbcribe to The Chillcast."
-- Karen of Rumor Girls
"Like having a cocktail of lovely tunes and honey poured directly into your ear. Well-chosen music, voice links that make you feel cosy inside, it all adds up to an essential weekly download."
-- Good Podcast Guide, Nov 2006
"If you're in the mood for chillout music, this should be your first stop. Her voice alone is the perfect complement for a long drive or any escape from the hectic rush of everday life. You're gonna love it."
