This week’s PodfinderUK — Ep38, subtitled “Let’s Hear It For The Girls,” features The Chillcast with Anji Bee. A clip of Chillcast Episode #96 is shared, which includes a bit of “One Day” by Shine. Also featured this episode are my ShowGirls co-hostesses, the Rumor Girls and Cali Lewis, as well as fellow PodShow podcasters, Amy Mac, and Gill Mills of Flyposter.
Thanks to lovely show hostess, Jo Laurence, for the recommendation!
Happy All Hallow’s Day, folks! Thought I’d share this awesome little track from Todd Fancey with ya tonight. I was with him earlier today on his me.dium Halloween RockMe Tour which was fun and crazy until Todd’s PC crashed, poor guy. Anyway, his music rocks, in a soft rock 70’s way. You’ll be hearing more on the Chillcast for sure! The next episode is shaping up to be chock full of Americana, dream pop, alt. country, indie rock and pop goodness - quite possibly with no electronica whatsoever. Shock!
I’m always complaining that I have more music than I can play on The Chillcast, right? So I’ve been thinking of expanding the show to a twice-weekly format. Perhaps later I’ll expand it to more than that… Just thought I’d ask your opinion on whether or not you think I should go twice-weekly with The Chillcast. I appreciate your input!
I’m the special guest on today’s Shameless Plugcast, being interviewed by show host, Zack Daggy, about Lovespirals, my vocal influences, podcasting, vidcasting, radio DJing, The Chillcast, Unwind, Lovely Ladies et al, plus I answer a listener question from Ed Ovett, of Ed’s Mixed Bag Podcast. This is one of my more personal interviews I think; good job, Zack!
Just ran across a funny review of The Chillcast from February. The writer says I’m so relaxed that, “like, gosh, it must be hard for Anji to lift her finger to press the record button.” Hmm…

"Anji Bee has the sexiest voice in podcasting!"
-- Adam Curry of Daily Source Code
"Anji's sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet voice... I remember the first time I ever heard her, way back in the day, I said she could read me a Chinese menu or the phone book and I would be all happy!"
-- C.C. Chapman of Accident Hash
"Anji's voice wouldn't be out of place in a smoky jazz or blues bar somewhere down in a dimly lit cellar. Sultry with a voice like syrupy silky satin with a marshmallow middle and a honey topping."
-- Most Recognizable Voices in Podcasting, Sept. 2007
"Cosiness abounds as the silken voiced Anji Bee - lead singer of chillout band Lovespirals - pours a cocktail of mellow dance music. Mmm..."
-- Radio Times, July 2007
"If you're looking for a different brand of 'grown and sexy' in the podcast world, check out Anji Bee. This young lady is bringing it - from production, to her voice, to the music selection - she is doing her thazizzle!"
-- Fave of Friday Favecast
"No other voice in the podosphere is more sultry than Anji Bee."
-- Macedonia, Radio BSOTS
"Anji Bee, a musician and former radio DJ, gives "stage" to artists who might not otherwise be discovered. Bee's podcast exposes me to independent artists I've never heard of, and subscribing to it eliminates the need to forage for new music."
- La Shawn Barber's Corner
"Enjoying The Chillcast. It's seriously awesome. I listen to them like over and over again."
-- Julien Smith of In Over Your Head
"I just love the tunes Anji Bee selects and her comments on them. I no longer have to search for music to be creative; I just susbcribe to The Chillcast."
-- Karen of Rumor Girls
"Like having a cocktail of lovely tunes and honey poured directly into your ear. Well-chosen music, voice links that make you feel cosy inside, it all adds up to an essential weekly download."
-- Good Podcast Guide, Nov 2006
"If you're in the mood for chillout music, this should be your first stop. Her voice alone is the perfect complement for a long drive or any escape from the hectic rush of everday life. You're gonna love it."
-- DJ Come of Age, Nov 2007
