Just a quick lil update this week as I’ve been insanely busy preparing to release my new album. Worried about “cursing” anything, I don’t give many specific details but I do share some recent personal news like my sexy new room, watching the lunar eclipse, reading On the Road: The Original Scroll, and hooking up with Clarence – again!
The Podsafe Music Countdown Top 10 podcast for August 5th included the Moosefrog & Anji Bee collaboration “New Life” at the #7 position, which was a cool surprise. The August 26th episode features the “bonus track” of Lovespirals’ “Motherless Child,” with a special intro and outro recorded by yours truly. You can help me rise in the charts by playing my music on your podcast, or requesting me to your favorite podcasters. You’ll find loads of podsafe tracks on the Lovespirals Podsafe Music Network page, and my Anji Bee Podsafe Music Network page. Thanks for your support!

An eclectic mix of moody tunes from CD sent in by bands, labels, and show listeners! Lots of lovely female vocals and one dreamy male vocal for contrast. PLUS a Ninja Tune Mix CD contest!

It’s a redcast this week as I record my first episode with my new audio setup in my freshly painted red room. I’m particularly chatty this week, dropping fan names right and left, showing you all the CDs I play on the upcoming Chillcast, as well as the updated Lovespirals digipac artwork, and my Helltastic t-shirt. I also re-announce the interactive contest Ryan and I first announced on Chillin’ with Lovespirals #39 – please, please enter that if you get a chance! More on the “Motherless Child” remix EP, going all digital, ShowGirls #9, my JibJab video and more. Other peeps mentioned are Corey Dennis, Zack Daggy, Joey of Scout. Chris Caulder, and Baratunde. You have no idea how much trouble this episode was… Ugh!
The girls are back at long last! Discussion of ShowGirls’ podcast award win, Elton John’s internet tirade, Skype shutdown, Dave Winer’s celebrity status, summer updates and latest news from hostesses Cali Lewis of GeekBrief, Soccergirl, KFC of PodChick, Karla & Karen of Rumor Girls and me, Anji Bee.
A densely packed half hour of musical relaxation that includes some upbeat tracks and some moody mellow numbers. I share my latest remix from a free Creative Commons album and annonuce winners of both the Dave Bianchi and 2Tall contests. Fun times!
Ooh, it’s a bedcast! I chat about recent events such as Lovespirals being on the Projekt 200 3-CD boxed set, the Anji Bee CD Store, watching David Lynch’s Twin Peaks – The Second Season DVDs, designing the Long Way From Home digipac (and stuff distracting me from that), Mojitos on the beach, ShowGirls‘ surprising Podcast Awards win, my big LinkShare check, and more. Features Lovespirals’ “Motherless Child (MoShang’s No Place Like Home Mix)” from MoShang’s brand new Asian Variations Remix CD.
BTW, I went out and bought the Mbox Mini after recording and it kept kernal panicking my laptop so it looks like I’m taking it back to GuitarCenter for the FastTrack Pro. Anyone using that?
Exciting news! ShowGirls, the conversational group podcast featuring me, the RumorGirls, Soccergirl, Cali Lewis, Share of Rock n Roll TV, and the PodChick, just won a People’s Choice Podcast Award! Interestingly, the podcast was inspired by the 7 female podcasters meeting at last year’s New Media Expo (previously called Portable Media Expo) where the awards ceremony take place. It will be a nice reunion for us this year as we get to accept our own award! Thanks to everyone who voted for us.
“Empty Universe” from Lovespirals’ upcoming CD, Long Way From Home is included on the boxed set compilation, Projekt 200. A celebration of the 200th release for indie label, Projekt, the 3-era 3-CD set includes 32 songs from the label’s 24 year history, including cuts from Chillcast featured artists Soul Whirling Somewhere, Autumn’s Grey Solace, and Love Spirals Downwards. This limited edition collection will be available in stores Sept 25th, but you can buy it online from projekt.com now.
