“This Truth” Ft. Anji Bee Tops UK Charts

This Truth on Loverush Hot new UK dance music label, Loverush Digital, is about to drop a “Damien.S VS Lovespirals” branded set of remixes of our single, “This Truth,” TOMMORROW February 9th. UK radio and club DJs, however, have already been spinning advanced copies the past few weeks. To my delight, the EP has been blazing up the DMC charts!

DMC is currently listing “This Truth” at #2 on the World Trance Chart, #4 on the World House Chart and the UK Club Chart, #6 on the Club 2009 Test Chart, #10 on the World Chart and #18 on the World Monthly Chart.

Support for the track has been great and we’re excited to be played on shows and stations including Housesssions with Denny Dowd on Juice FM, PH Factor on Energy FM, Club Control with DJ Confusion, and Twilight on Pulse. Reactions have been fantastic, as well. DJs are reporting lots of dancefloor love and even requests!

John McCormick (Deep 6, Fury Murrys, The Hive, Yates) 10/10
This has created one of the biggest buzzes on the floors I’ve seen in ages. Its an enormous winner and packs the floors everytime without fail. Superb mix package. Top stuff all round!

DJ Crispian Aldis (Elemental, Havanah, Paradise) 10/10
This is good and is causing quite a stir in my sets. Loads of fab mixes to choose from. Top track, top label. I can see big things for Loverush in 2009.

Beaker (Berties, Bunters, Divas, Red Square) 9/10
I love the feel to this track, she has such a haunting voice. You can’t help but hear it. It’s such a smooth chill out dance track that works really well.

John J (Club DNA, Liquid Lounge, Wigan Pier) 9/10
LOVIN THIS! Quality vocal trancer with a wicked package of mixers. Fave is Juno Synclair vs Craig Bailey Remix.

Chillcast Nominated for Podcast Award

Anji with ShowGirls Award 2007
Anji with ShowGirls Award 2007

To my great surprise and delight, I learned that The Chillcast with Anji Bee has been nominated once again for The People’s Choice Podcast Award. I want to thank all of you – whoever you are – that took the time to visit podcastawards.com to nominate your humble hostess. You are the best! Of course, this is just the first step, to win the award, I would need everyone to go back and vote for me between October 23rd and November 6th, 2008. Now, I am much more concerned that all of my fellow Americans vote in the presidential election on November 4th, but it would still be pretty darned cool to win an award for the Best Podsafe Music Podcast!!! I must admit that, as fun as it was to win the group award for ShowGirls in 2007, it would be way more fun to have my very own Podcast Award here in my studio. 🙂

Karla of Rumor Girls Can’t Run to Chillcast

On the recent RumorGirls vidcast, my friend and former ShowGirls co-hostess, Karla Gilbert, confided to her sister, Karen, that she can’t listen to The Chillcast while she runs. She asked me to create a running friendly episode of the podcast for her. I’d like to suggest my recent Loverush Digital Spotlight show packed full of high energy trance mixes! Check the last 3rd of the show for her comments.

Anji Bee Tune on 64mm Skate Vidcast

Rad! The latest episode of the 64mm vidcast includes “Love Me Leave Me,” my 2004 collaboration with Bitstream Dream. The funny thing is, I finally saw Paranoid Park this weekend, which is a film by one of my fave directors, Gus Van Sant, shot at Burnside Skatepark in Portland, OR. Anyways, stoked to be part of this fun skating vid. Hope you enjoy it, too!

Lovespirals on Coverville Podcast #474

This week’s “indie edition” of the award-winning Coverville podcast includes Lovespirals’ rendition of Pink Floyd’s “Welcome to the Machine.” This track was recorded in 2006 for a fan-created tribute compilation called NPF Tribute Vol. 2: The Return of the Sons of Neptune available as a free download from the Neptune Pink Floyd site. While you’re there, you can also grab our cover of “Cymbaline” from the NPF Tribute Vol. 1: None of Us is Pink. Thanks to Brian for featuring Lovespirals for the 3rd time on his great show! I really enjoyed the selections this episode, so be sure to check out Coverville #474 for a good time. 😀

PodfinderUK Interviews Anji Bee

The PodfinderUK blog posted a Mini-Interview with The Chillcast’s Anji Bee this week. Topics include the origin of both The Chillcast and Chillin’ with Lovespirals podcasts, my favorite podcasts and vidcasts, what I wanted to be when I was a child, the most “significant thing” to happen to me as a result of podcasting, and future plans for my shows. PodfinderUK is a great little “best of” style vidcast starring Josephine Laurence presenting an eclectic mix of vidcast and podcast clips from all over the podosphere.

Anji Bee is the soft, sultry, sexy voice of the Chillcast, and one half of the Lovespirals.

First Review of Chandeen ft. Anji Bee

The first review of the upcoming Chandeen album, Teenage Poetry was recently posted on the band’s MySpace page:

Teenage Poetry is a long awaited jewel, a breathing, timeless work that rewards the patient listener with a moving, tear-inducing “hidden track” featuring Anji Bee of Love Spirals Downwards. It is lovely that such music is still produced today!” – Ecki Stieg

Some readers are probably scratching their heads wondering who this Love Spirals Downwards is, so I’ll fill you in; that was the original name of Lovespirals way back in 1991 with former vocalist, Suzanne Perry, (who would surely balk at my name being linked to the pre-2000 history of the band). In fact, only 1 song with me has been released as “Love Spirals Downwards” and that was a remix we did for Claire Voyant in 2000, so my vocals weren’t even involved – just my mad mixing skills. 😀

In any case, a very positive review, and one which makes me anxious to hear the rest of the album for myself. Teenage Poetry is due out March 28, 2008 on Chandeen’s own Kalinkaland label.
