Fan Discovers Lovespirals via MoShang via Second Life

Its always interesting to find out how fans discover my music and podcast, and sometimes the connections are surprising. A recent post on Second Arts blog details Morris Vig’s musical journey, courtesy of Second Life. Apparently a chance MoShang performance in SL lead to the discovery of Lovespirals (via MoShang’s remix of “Motherless Child,” no doubt), as well as The Chillcast with Anji Bee, which of course has always been a strong supporter of MoShang. Even more fun is that MoShang was Vig’s gateway into the chillout music scene. May I be the first to say, “Welcome!”

Note: These lyrics are an adaptation of one of the Songs of Milarepa, a classic Tibetan Buddhist text. “Crossing the Pond” is an instrumental by Snoblind which I added vocals to specifically for the CC Asia Band Creative Commons project. My vocals were made available on the ccMixter site, and as such, many other songs were created using these lyrics by various producers under different names. Benoit Cassar released his mix, entitled “Buddhahood,” on his 2010 compilation, ‘Danai, Vol. 2.’

One of my favorite Chillcast bands join us today with a brand new video: Paul & Price — YAY!!! To top it off, it’s a “remix” of one of my all-time fave songs, “Little White Roses,” featuring lovely vocalist, Toddy Ivy. The original version is from their awesome 2006 CD, Sounds Like Sex 2, but this version – called “Little White Roses (On A Hazy Summers Day)” – comes from last year’s Paul & Price VS Toddy Ivy EP. This cute and creative video was directed by Canadian artist, Daniel Cambil. Tune in to this weekend’s Chillcast audio show for more Paul & Price music and a special CD contest!
